It will be very interesting to see how the club handles the next move 09:19 - Mar 26 with 901 viewsFinidiCentenary

First of all, credit to Marcus Evans for both reducing the prices and acknowledging the mistake made last year.

10% is a significant reduction. We'd have all preferred Huddersfield or Bradford prices no doubt, but those reductions are few and far between. When the dust settles, this will be one of the biggest reductions in the division, if not the biggest, regardless of whether people feel they were over-priced to start with.

The managerial move though is now even bigger on the back of this. The early bird deadline comes before the manager announcement will likely be made. If Mick is not to stay, given we aren't going up or down, then we really should be told before April 30th.

If not, then this deadline becomes even more important. There could be hundreds of fans waiting to see if he leaves before renewing, who then decide that they can't justify paying the increased rate after the deadline. Hopefully, this will be extended as it has before.

If they keep McCarthy after people have gobbled up the 10% reduction on the back of expecting him to leave then there could be more disgruntled fans than before the reduction was announced and it will unfortunately be viewed as a sweetener in keeping Mick against the majority of fans wishes. The good will earned will immediately vanish.

It's impossible to know with Evans, but all you can really say at this point is well done for both lowering prices and apologising. Again, the apology may mean little to people but there's always been a genuine concern Evans is completely out of touch with fans. At least this shows that he does appreciate he got it wrong.

£381 is outstanding value.
£381 to watch another season of Mick isn't.

Exactly right.

£17 a game, or whatever it comes to, to watch Championship football is excellent value by todays prices.

But given that 2,000 or 3,000 people that have already paid aren't turning up to watch us under Mick then Evans must surely be aware that a lot of people won't pay £17 to watch it when you can't get 20% of people who have effectively have it for free not turning up.
