You're right. He's a Communist.

How is he a communist? I feel that word has lost its meaning and seems to be applied to any left-wing or 'Old Labour' types.

Chico's a McCarthyite (although a waverer on the football side).

"When asked if he regarded himself as a Marxist, Corbyn responded by saying: "That is a very interesting question actually. I haven't thought about that for a long time. I haven't really read as much of Marx as we should have done. I have read quite a bit but not that much."

I haven't ever called him a communist. But I have called him a marxist, as have others, and he doesn't deny being one. He also hired a communist who praised N Korea and Stalin, in Andrew Murray, to help run his election campaign. Seamus Milne is a Marxist. As is John McDonnell.

These aren't 'Old Labour' types. They are the very people the old Labour party were fighting against in the late 1970's early 1980's.

Communists, Marxist, Facist,

To be honest I doubt most people on here truly know the meaning or beliefs of either.

although there’s only a fag paper between them.

Read a little about D'Annunzio and the other proto-fascist (the recognized pre-fascist) movements and then tell me where socialism comes into it over any other influence such as conservatism, religion, militarism and especially nationalism.

Feels like deja vu all over again.

The 3 you mention are all very similar in that they are authoritarian forms of centralised planned government. Communism and Marxism are more hostile to free market capitalism than Fascism probably although we will never know that for sure as there has only been a couple of failed properly Fascist governments whereas there are loads of failed communist/Marxist governments.

In hindsight I think Hitler was ultimately a bad thing for the fascist movement.

I have to giggle though at people who defend one ism by comparing it with another ism.

Stalin killed more people than Hitler could dream of.

Wake up. Ism ism = Same same.

Optimism? Humanism? Materialism?

Anyway, you've hopped over the major differences between ideologies and you're basically comparing totalitarian versus authoritarian governments and saying there's ultimately no difference. Which there effectively isn't for the man on the street.

Go to sleep.
