I'm proud to say I'm a card carrying Labour voter, but these sanctimonious pricks leave me cold, not a fan of Rees-Mogg but fair play to him on this occasion.

They were shouting and calling Rees-Mogg a fascist but surely they can see that attempting to forcibly suppress opposition views is... well, fascism.

Well that backfired. He comes across much, much better than them in that clip. I loved the idiot in the wooley hat and glasses mouthing off and then as soon as Rees-Mogg tried to talk to him he turned towards the door. Utter cowards.
Goes back to what I was saying the other day. When you are sure you are right any actions are justified and compromise/listening to other views is something you just don't need to concern yourself with. "You're not worth debating mate". Idiots.

I’ve always thought that political views are encapsulated in a circle. The far right and the far left meet each other.
Those idiots are just useless simpletons though really aren’t they. Unfortunately they are a perfect example of labours rapidly growing extreme position.
“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”

Your first two sentences are my views exactly.

"You're not worth debating mate" says it all. He seems keen to shout fascist and get involved in punch-ups, but as soon as it comes to an intellectual debate with the man you claim to despise who has the balls to approach you, they can't even muster up a counter.
Pathetic.

Can't stand JRM but I think he behaved well compared to the protestors. The world will be a better place once everyone realises that actual debate is far more healthy than shouting and name calling. The point about the extreme sides of the left-right spectrum is true of many people unfortunately. It's one of the things that has put me off Labour and made me more Lib-Dem leaning.

This has happened before and he always tries to discuss their grievance with them. Usually they don't want to do that though as they decided the outcome before they burst in.
Regardless of ones thoughts on Mogg, he will try and discuss things with anyone.

There's been plenty of name-calling from other than just Labour.
We are constantly told by some parties that they can't help who jumps on board.
Certainly may be helpful if Labour speak out and distance themselves from these morons, but that's all they are.
These aren't people of influence. They're just some kids who are too stupid to understand the world beyond being kept by their parents.
Hiding behind masks whilst abusing someone public speaking is pathetic.
Learning module on how *not* to conduct a protest?! The very definition of "counter-productive" - do it like this, & watch how your target comes out of it better than people had previously thought of him!
Sometimes the desperation to be against something is just embarrassing ........ It's only Jacob Rees Mogg for heaven's sake not Tommy Robinson or the ilk ! Unfortunately the majority of political energy is expended over what you oppose rather than what you are for. Maybe when you look at the world the present politicos have created this is not surprising.
"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."
Why do you say Momentum supporters? The tweet even says "hard left AntiFa".
I see lower down in the thread you say one of them has "apparently" been identified as supporting Momentum, but I'm still baffled as to why you call them Momentum supporters. Why not just call them antifa like it says?
But yes, I agree, JRM comes out better than these morons.
Appalling behaviour. I don't agree with Jacob Rees-Mogg on much if anything but this is not a good look.
I haven't met anyone like this in my local Labour Party so I'm not sure how common it is but there are clearly a few bad eggs. I'd stand up for JRM in a situation like this as the behaviour of the guy is an affront to democracy; peaceful protest is fine, shouting down and shoving your opponents around is not.

Not much between the hard-left and hard-right these days.
My mate took some anti-fascists to a march once as he was a driver for some societies at uni. On this occasion he got on well with them as he's pretty left wing and thought he'd join them (they were protesting against the EDL, fair enough). However after spending an hour or two with them the hammer and sickle flags came out, then the communist chants, then the violence and throwing stuff at not just the EDL but also people who just happened to get caught up in it; he said to one of the guys he'd been hanging around with you're just as bad as them and walked off. Like myself he considers himself a socialist but not a communist and doesn't ignore the horrors of communism and thinks it's cool like some (mostly younger folk) seem to.
