Don't think they are.

They're showing 16 midweek matches over the course of a season.

"Under the new agreement, Sky Sports in each season from 2019/20 will broadcast:

· A maximum of 150 exclusive Sky Bet EFL League matches, which include:
· 16 Sky Bet Championship games on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings;
· A minimum of 20 Sky Bet League One and League Two matches;
· The 15 Sky Bet EFL Play-Off matches including all three Finals;
· 15 matches from the Carabao Cup including the Final;
· The Semi-Final and Final of the Checkatrade Trophy"

Good, think it's a positive move and won't really affect attendances but just help those who can't get to the games for whatever reason

There's a bit in the Times by Martin Ziegler which says it will be in addition to that.

Sky will show every midweek game in Champ

Sides in C, L1 and L2 will be able to show any game not kicking off at 3pm on a Saturday (that isn't on Sky) live on their website

The games you've mentioned doesn't include their 'interactive channels'

I heard BT were sniffing around getting the Championship over to them when the next TV deal expires with sky.

Just means Leeds will be on Sky twice a week.

I think you're naive to think it won't affect attendances.
The extra money will simply inflate wages & transfer fees in the EFL even further.

"Among the new developments will be Sky showing 16 Championship matches on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings each season."

Reading that bit from Phil's report, I only hope they aren't going to change some of the Saturday games to a Tuesday so they can do it more regularly. As there are Tuesday games about once a month, will they want more?

Just going by the EFL press release

Edit: just seen bit about Sky having the rights to show midweek matches interactively, should they want to.

This. It'll definitely affect midweek attendances, no question. By how much, we'll only know when it's underway.

That said, even if it took 1,000 off midweek attendances, the club would probably only need to be paid £100,000 a season to cover the lost revenue from 4 home midweek games (based on average ticket price of £25).

Another nail in the coffin of English football. Soon there will be absolutely no need to attend the games, or visit the town, killing off any last semblance of community.

Whilst I agree that football is dead, the fact that we can watch all matches in a place of our choosing, including your local pub, simply means that the community is moving from Portman Road to closer to home.

Indeed as soon as some people watch it in the pub, or the majority at home (as this is what currently happens if people don't go to the game who watch it), then that is the end of that community, they have been drawn to the television in the privacy of their own homes, instead of going out.

Conventional wisdom is the enemy of thought.
