Another great display with some lovely football and quite how we did not win by more is beyond me. Shrewsbury came to play with11 behind the ball and a low press so we ended up having lots of ball and it was relatively easy to get the ball up the other end of the pitch. We struggled at times to find the killer pass. Hurst was great up front and scored a lovely goal and was unlucky not to have a second. Chaplin turned it on in the second half after a frustrating first half, and created the goal for Luongo. Luongo and Morsey were magnificent in midfield and almost always won the ball plus were creative. Burgess and Wolfy were solid in defence and offered the opposition strikers virtually nothing. Walton had a bit to do in the first half with one quality save, and good distribution of the ball. Clarke was brilliant going forward and solid at the back and it will not be long before he gets his first goal. We now look so strong and dangerous on the right. The left hand side did not click so well and Davis had a decent game but not his best, and struggled to link up as well as usual with Broadhead. Broadhead did not have his best game and should have scored when he went down and there was the penalty claim. My MOM was Burns. 100% effort and running, great cross for the first goal, created lots and looked dangerous, and got back well when needed. Really enjoyable game and looking forward to the next in 2 weeks.

Excellent Luongo, excellent Burns, excellentMorsy and a complete performance from all to control the destiny of the points. Shrewsbury certainly made a game of it. Good performance from them too. Very robust defending to test our resolve but nothing fromtheir forwards except fo two tests for Walton which he stood up to. COYB
