| News Comment | Hutchinson Recalled to Chelsea at 19:09:54
Let’s be realistic, yes he’s good for our squad and yes he has the fans. However signing expensive players (which he is in comparison to the entire squad) Will only serve to destabilise the group. History tells us when you buy big name players into a stable squad other lesser players start looking around and their performance drops off. You’ve only got a look at previous signings the last time we were in the premiership. Much better looking at up-and-coming talent and bringing them on Then putting all your eggs in one basket. We love you, Omari and wish you all the very best for the future. PS, please don’t score against us. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Blackburn Have Been Hard to Beat at 00:02:57
Make no mistake, this will not be a walk over. They are better than their league position and under a new manager they’re hard to beat. However they haven’t chalked up a win, just draws. Even though we’ve had key players on international duty and Burns out we should have enough. Tough tough next 5 fixtures. If we can glean a good haul of points from them, who knows, we can May be able to dream….. |
| News Comment | McKenna: It's a Massive Challenge at 08:57:19
Let’s a tricky one this. Even though we are in form and Southampton have had a couple of howlers. Midweek at a bogey ground for us…. I have all confidence in us but it’s not going to be a goal feast… another measured, in control 1 nil win will do it for me. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Walton Ahead of Schedule at 10:53:23
2 great keepers…..!? What about Mr Slicker, I thought he’d be pressing for the no1 spot. Or was he simply cover for Walton’s injury? |
| News Comment | Hirst: To Be Reunited With the Boys is an Amazing Feeling at 20:47:19
In January I was a sceptic, however over the course of the next 5 months I became a believer…. He's in the right place to continue to improve and write his name in the record books.. So happy for everyone…!! Georgie, you're home now, the fans have taken you to their hearts and you haven't disappointed. Long may it continue. Onward and Upward…!!! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town Fixtures 2023/24 at 17:39:05
These fixtures bring it home….but we shouldn't fear any of them. If we're top 10 at Christmas we'll know we're on to something….!! |
| News Comment | McKenna: Couple of Players With Minor Issues at 10:41:56
It's gonna be a tough one no matter who we put out. The league is the priority. So let's get some of the periphery players in the mix, stretch them and see what comes out at the end. Apparently we have Arthur Scargill advising on how to make such minor changes this week…… |
| News Comment | Clarke: It Was Special to Go Out There and Play at 13:05:44
If not the best one of the best (with Broadhead) performances on the pitch last night. Was doing what JD was last season making our right side and WB much better. He never ran out of steam and was relentless at getting forward in great positions and getting back when needed. Probably one of the best debuts i've seem (and i've seen a few....). One of our own, so young and so grateful for being back at his home club.... such a great signing of what could be a great player.... hope we have him on a 15 year deal.... LOL. WELL DONE HARRY....!! |
| News Comment | McKenna: One of the Best Performances Since I’ve Been Here at 18:30:00
First 30 brilliant but without being clinical in front of goal. Stopped pressing, let them get into the game, gain some confidence and a defensive error let them in. It's always going to difficult at home when teams come and park the bus…. Just needed to be more direct when playing from the back. Don't allow teams to park the bus…. But let's be hones, 2nd in the league 1/3 in. We'd taken that on day one wouldn't we…..!! They'll always be days like this in football, the trick is have as few as possible…. Onward and Upward…!!! |
| News Comment | Departing Skipper Chambers Truly Humbled at 01:05:47
Sentiment sometimes gets in the way of the truth. Truth that can only be assessed with facts. So a ‘head heart' quandary. First the ‘heart' He has dedicated the latter part of his career, with gusto, energy and passion. Giving lots to the cause and trying to be the best he could be. So you can't knock him for that. Now the head; giving all you can during a game is a fundamental behaviour of all well paid professional footballers. What is true is that regrettably he has made a great career out of doing this. Which has overshadowed his lack of quality, lack of higher ability resulting in desperation and game changing gaffs. It is a sad state of the game that when a team is doing badly the manager is mainly blamed and inevitably is given the boot by all. But the captain (the players leader) remains. When you look at the clubs demise over the past 5 years managers have come and gone but there have been 2 constants. The owner and the captain. When you assess this fact and taking an objective view Chambo has had a part to play in the pitch failures. Nobody ever doubts his commitment but it's the application of this. Business is full of tryers, but tryers often fall short as they don't have all of the skills. Sadly Chambo appears to be one of these players. Everyone loves a tryer, but they don't deliver. |
