| Forum Thread | Saints commentary? at 01:15 3 Apr 2024
I know it's not the end of the season, but let's enjoy it a bit longer.... I have heard all the different commentaries, but not the Saints commentators when that goal went in. Is it a hard listen? |

I don't think it's been stated categorically, but the implication was that a second season was an option which, I presume, he and his side would only want to enact if Ipswich went up. That said, countless clubs are watching him by all accounts so any loan would also depend on him not being sold elsewhere. |
| Forum Reply | How are we feeling about the nodge game? at 09:29 2 Apr 2024
Over the last few games Ipswich have not been playing as smoothly or composed as for most of the season, but still managing to get wins which is an incredibly good sign. Norwich are not playing well - so a Budgie friend tells me - and they simply couldn't last 90 minutes in their game on Monday. Which is also a good sign. That said, obviously a derby is somewhat unpredictable, though McKenna seems very good at keeping the squad's atmosphere calm and not letting it all get crazy in build up. I just hope they don't try to wind up Morsey so he gets more than the usual one yellow card. |

Yes. 100% we want them to win* *and for there to be a mass brawl with a few players sent off from each side, and for both teams to then go on losing streaks. |
| Forum Reply | How much does a football stand cost? at 18:33 25 Mar 2024
When working in architecture I never worked on such a commercial or sports scheme, and am not a QS, but I would estimate for a stand on the scale as indicatively shown in the Council car-park masterplan somewhere between 45 and 65m. For all the desire I have I don't think the club would appoint a good or well known sports stadium architect like Populous, and instead may go a far more commercial route which may save a few bob but would look like it and maybe not age so well. Someone above mentioned Crystal Palace's new stand is circa £150m - I have seen "above £100m" mentioned (though with materials costs and Brexit related worker issues that is perhaps now likely closer to £150m) I think the Palace stand is larger, but perhaps a similar model approach - though their site is a lot more complicated for access, works and general overhead costs. |

I do not think this is "the design", no. Perhaps an initial design-intent based upon basic studies of the site, access, requirements etc. This would be an initial scoping and form finding exercise, so any future development could possibly have this kind of shape but they would not be into deeper design process yet. |
| Forum Reply | I'm a little surprised at 12:18 23 Mar 2024
It will be great to have better facilities, a proper gym, medical suites etc. Architecturally, however, it's very big-box and uninspiring. I get it, they don't *need* to design something that's interesting design wise, not that this has to necessarily mean more expensive, but as architecture this is very underwhelming. I know it's all subjective and that, but I am an architecture critic and teacher as a job, so see a LOT of renders of things like this. |

I think going to Category 1 Academy is good news! |

At the Millwall game I found the live big screen so, so useful. It had a five second delay from the action, so when I couldn't see something clearly at the other end of the pitch, or I wanted to check what I thought was a foul or penalty, etc, I could quickly look up. It really improved the live viewing experience. |

Oh, I don't gamble, i just thought it was high odds for a league with a lot happening. |

I am not saying it will or expecting it to happen, but title odds of 10/1 are good if you're a betting person, lots of football to be played over the next 8 & 9 games. Leicester 8/15 Leeds 5/2 Ipswich 10/1 Norwich 2500/1 (from https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship) |

Damn - wasn't what I wanted, but Leeds are on a roll. I have had to block so many of their fans on Twitter because of the sheer insufferable arrogance |

It seems to be that because the opponents made a head injury sub, not counting as one of the five, then we too can make an extra one. |
