The youth at Ipswich have been let down badly by the so called management at our club, They will find that Ipswich was built on bringing youth through the Academy to build the first team along with the odd signings that was needed to maintain a good team, But this seem's to be far from what has been happening.Only hope that they can turn it around and compete with the leading groups in our league if not god help us? Seattle Sounders gate is 60.000 + all seated at nearly every game. Casey Keller US top keeper has just had his retirement game for them 75.000+ were there including Cody Cropper.They have a very large following like Man United over here. |

buryblue77 understand what you are saying ,but just to inform you Cody has been with his family in the USA. His father was a top coach and through contacts Cody was offered a chance to train with that Club. He does not stop training like most players on leave ?. He knows its vital to remain fit in football if you wants to progress.Also he will be joining the USA International team over there.As regard him having had trials with other teams.Yes he did Arsenal, wolves,Portsmouth,Birmingham,Leicester,IPSWICH. All bar one Birmingham offered a contract. But a problem with Croppers passport and international clearance papers would take over a year to sort out. The clubs could not wait and let him go, But wanted to keep in touch.Ipswich was the only club that said they were not letting him go,and would hold on to him regardless.From that point on it was hands off to any club that wanted to watch Cropper play,What does that suggest ?? Any way its all water under the bridge now,You may be surprised where he may end up? Just hope he will enjoy his football like all players should COYB |

Richard Wright was and still is a good Keeper.True he chased the money,Who would not have done the same? But sadly he chose the easy way to earn his pay by sitting on the bench for so long letting his best playing time slip away for good.He will never get that time back again? But saying that he still has enough skill to produce some of the old Wrighty we knew.But is now injury prone and misses training often because of this. Only training and kick about's? probably set Ipswich back years to come . Most of the Academy players ,some who were very good player's have gone and others will not stay. Paul Jewell didn't have the guts to tell Cody Cropper what was happening to his face. I heard Cody's agent had to tell him ? Great Management but typical of Jewell People have said that the coaches must have had a say in the decision to release him, They are up in arm's about this and knew nothing about this action, Jewell and Clegg had a meeting and made this decision on their own. As far as the coaches were led to believe Cropper was to be kept on at the end of his contract ,and was to be a big part of towns plans for the next two years. So what does this tell us .Shabby Management every one is working in the dark at Ipswich Jewell is a crap Manager could not even tell the lad the truth and some one else had to do his dirty work. Sorry pressed the wrong key ..four out of the five teams offered Cropper a Contract Arsenal wanted him back in 12 month's time because of his age ie 15 Birmingham said no. Portmouth was writing up a contract while he was there but had to withdraw it as the club was going bust and having to sell a lot of player's to survive ,that was a couple of years back. Karlofaqndangal before you post please get your information correct.You along with another one or two on this subject of Cody Cropper have no idea what you are talking about. I am not bother'd if you think he was good or not so good,but I do not like people who run player's career's down using false information.You state that Leicester,Arsenal, Portsmouth ,Birmingham,Wolves,West Ham.All said No after trials.For your information Wolves,Leicester,West Ham, Portsmouth all offered Cody Cropper a Contract but Cody was having problems with his duel Nationality Passport being issued. When that was sorted it took almost a year to get his international clearance.The club's could not wait any longer and introduced him to other club's.This is how he came to Ipswich and they held on to him until it finally came through.Arsenal would have taken him on if he lived in the close vacinity because he was only 15 years old .They told him to come back a year later. Birmingham was the only team not to offer him a contract. ERICGATES agree with what you say entirely but just one point to put you right Cody Cropper has just turned 19 not 20 years of age makes it sound even more stupid what they have done. Do not speculate about Cody Cropper it is obvious what is on the cards for Ipswich a New Number 1 Richard Wright Number 2 ALB Number3 very little youth left at Ipswich only trialist's most of the Academy youth have gone not being offered anything.I think this will work out for the best for Cody Cropper he can now move on and get some playing time and be judged on his game.Not being judged on his training with an injury .Paul Jewell is Pathetic knows sod all about the youth here at Ipswich, We were renowned for bringing on player's through the Academy, A lot of you on here do nothing but slag them off now and make your own little story's up about them ,Most of them totally untrue. Dont think we will see Nicolay at Ipswich again.I think Paul Jewell is getting rid of all the youth players at Ipswich to replace them with older players to try and save his Job with Ipswich. Cant think of many Academy players left now,even the young players that have made a few games in the first team was to keep us off his back and make him look as if he has been listening to the supporters. More will be leaving for sure at the end of this season. Ipswich will struggle to get the players that we deserve at this club.Penny pinching management with no ambition but to just break even each year. I hope Nicolay makes good as i hope all the players who may leave make good.No prospects left for the youth at ipswich. |
