This is my brother in law saying the same thing within a few hours of them losing contact. I think just about everyone with any level of expertise knew quite quickly what had happened.

A few members of my wife’s family have been down there (my father-in-law lead the first three expeditions to find Titanic) and it’s never sounded appealing. My brother-in-law was on the news in the USA basically saying that, unfortunately, he doesn’t think there’s any chance of survival.
To be fair to Callis, the heading on the BBC homepage that that article is linked from reads, “Why vegans inspire irrational hatred”. You can blame the BBC for any sensationalism.
