| News Comment | U21s Beat Hull to Maintain Unbeaten Start at 19:17:52
Entertaining game this afternoon. Some good players in the young Town team but I've thought that for years and hardly any make it to the first team these days. |
| News Comment | Celina's Kasımpaşa Move Back On at 15:17:30
Yes, we'll miss his ‘worldies' but his regular inability to complete a five yard pass last season, less so. Just ‘thanks for the good times' and ‘good luck for the future'. |
| News Comment | U18s Host Blades in Youth Cup Quarter-Final at 20:22:27
Brilliant performance! Thoroughly deserved victory. Punched the air when we scored the winner. I'm surprised I could remember how to. Restores your faith in all things ITFC :) |
| News Comment | Evans: Town Knew They Had a Battering, the Best Side Lost at 10:02:43
At least it's not only Lambert that spouts drivel :) Yes, they had chances in the second half, and could have even won the game, but they were awful in the first half and far from the well organised, disciplined team that Evans seems to have watched. |
| News Comment | Doncaster Rovers 4-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 21:17:22
This could just be ‘one of those games' but I think more likely it shows our limitations. I really fear that we've reached our level i.e. League One. We are capable of playing excellent football but there is also a soft under-belly. With a goalie who can't kick, defenders who can't play it out from the back, a midfield that often goes missing and a pretty powder puff strike force, the opening six games probably represent alas another ‘false dawn'. |
| News Comment | MK Dons 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:50:47
Very disappointing. Don't really understand why so many people seem surprised. We were an average League One side last year and apart from Ward not much has changed. Bishop and Dozzell are too inconsistent and pretty lightweight. MK Dons played the better football and were stronger and a yard quicker. Maybe just an off day for us, or a reality check. Time will tell! |
| News Comment | Lambert Left Rueing Failure to Take Chances at 18:44:27
Yawn, yawn! Admittedly he has to appear to be positive but for someone who bangs on about having played for ‘really, really' big clubs and in the Champions League too, he must be able to recognise a team that has no midfield creativity and one that has strikers that cannot win headers and can't score either! He should also recognise what being tactically inept means! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Gillingham - Match Report at 17:45:22
How they didn't score is beyond me! How we didn't score was all too plain to see. Lack of creativity in midfield a real issue. And Downes only sub needs an explanation. |
| News Comment | Norwood: Time to Put Things Right at 10:53:59
You're always going to get up-beat, positive remarks from the manager and players. They have to say these, and probably do believe most of them. The reality is that actions speak louder than words. Play as we can for 90 minutes and I too am confident that we're League One-beaters, but... COYB |
| News Comment | Lambert: Draw Probably a Fair Result at 18:53:55
Don't get me wrong I like Lambert and he's done wonders off the field. But I do think he got what he least wanted and yet most deserved today. The groans from all around when we saw the team sheet, pretty much relying on Keane upfront and playing Dozzell wide right all showed a lack of respect for the FA Cup and the home fans. Yes, some changes I get. But ten changes? If it was the Col U game I could understand it, especially with no league game ‘til 23rd. Just who is he going to pick on Tuesday? That said well done to the lads for the second half performance. COYB |
| News Comment | Lambert: I Said We'd Have Bumps and Bruises Along the Way at 06:56:01
Let us play and we're probably better than most teams in this league. But Rotherham didn't let us play. They made it difficult by closing us down and winning everything in the air - often unchallenged. We need to address, adapt and overcome this as there are probably a number of Rotherhams to come. 3-5-2 may be the answer??? |
| News Comment | Skuse: Frustrated But Not Downcast at 13:37:13
Edwards for Vincent-Young; Nsiala for Wilson; Dozzell for Downes; and Judge for Norwood. Yes, it's a decent squad - especially for League One, but no real surprise that we were less effective yesterday. |
| News Comment | Cotter and Drinan Set for Swedish Trial at 20:11:40
Both seem surplus to requirements, although Cotter could have solved our RB problem if his attitude was better. Good luck to both. If they come back better players it'll have been worthwhile. |
| News Comment | Former Lincoln Defender Wilson Training With Blues at 18:50:29
A lot of people need to get real. We're a league one club now and without massive investment we shop where we can. We'll be good enough to hold our own but a lack of quality at the back and in midfield means instant promotion is unlikely. Pessimistic or realistic? It's all a matter of opinion. |
