UK internal flights
at 17:03 12 Mar 2023

Most of the EU countries Covid bailouts were conditional on them closing their short haul networks where theres a rail alternative within a specific time window, so, makes a lot of sense to do this when you have good, well run publicly owned rail networks.

We have known this was coming and i expect to see it also spread to cross border journeys within the EU too where theres a suitable alternative.

Parked car - advice needed
at 11:29 14 Nov 2019

used to happen at my ex's house a few years back, i found a lovely trick, a long shipping pallet generally fits the jacking points on most cars. most pallet trucks are 2t rated. most handbrakes are on the rear wheels, and most people dont leave their car in gear.

Pallet under back half of car car. Pallet truck into pallet. Lift car at rear. pull into the road. Leave.

someone else will call it in quick smart, and itll be gone within half hour.

If they leave it in gear, you can lift most things if you centre the pallet, i did this probably 6 times in 2 months before her landlord installed security gates.

What are the odds on Lambert or Barton getting sent off today

Surely it's got all the makings of a touch line tear up and at least one of them getting sent to the stands?!

at 11:15 14 Sep 2019

first few weeks of the season i had a bit more time to trawl the internet and see whats what. Now normality has resumed, i jumped on quickly thinking id just see whats happening. And it dawned on me, with Harry retiring, theres a big void. Fingers crossed for a win today

ive never been a massive fan either, but its a classic example of what can happen when a benefactor stops paying the bills.

If i was going, unfortunately i cant, i think its a day when we should comfortably beat them on the pitch, but show solidarity with their fans about whats actually going on there. Football is the only loser if they go under in reality......

yeah, tbf i also know of a lot of the lads he used to knock about with when he was younger, theyre not the most pleasant bunch. I kinda expected him to be a bit like that when i first spoke to him, but far from it, his kids are all very pleasant too, but his mrs wears the trousers!

he may have had a flat there, but he definitely 'lived' in Nottingham, just off J25 of the M1

he lives down my road and i often bump into him, i asked him not long after he left how was it at the blades, and he said that the 40 mins in the car to get to training now was worlds apart from commuting to ipswich and had made a huge difference to him

Posh pubs

i have a bar and we dont serve that particular lager or any like it really, was sat outside last friday lunch time, group of builders walk up, 4 or 5 sit outside, 3 or 4 go in, one who was outside (who had clearly been before) says to his mate, get me a pint of Estrella please.

wind forward 30 seconds, they come out saying, 'this place must be sh1t, they dont have carling or fosters', then looks at his mate and says, 'i thought you had been here before why ask for Stella, they aint got that either'

I was very proud at that point as the Estrella guy looked at me and rolled his eyes and then said i guess we should go to Lloyds
