No idea about Jeffers as a coach but don’t think it’s a case of he should be coaching the attackers
I’ve heard on various podcasts ex Arsenal players talk about how George Graham was the best defensive coach going and the stats backed that up, I’m sure they still hold a goals conceded record for the top flight
Graham was a flamboyant attacking midfielder if I’m not mistaken
The idea that you need to a defender to coach the defence is nonsense
When burley was most successful with us his staff were him Mowbray and Roberts 3 defenders
Somehow we managed to score lots of goals despite the lack of an attacking coach, incredible |

What sticks out in my brain is a 6 foot 2 mass of blonde hair playing centre midfield for us that day

I don’t Lee’s job title does him any favours because he’s skill set is more suited to working around the academy/community
What I find sad and I guess it’s the modern football fan but people hoping he’s going to get sacked, local lad supported the club all his life and his heart is in the right place for sure
Be interested to know how many of the people who want him out disobey orders from their boss and risk losing their jobs
I’d imagine most people like Lee do what they need to do to keep their job and support their family |

I think if we are being honest a key reason why he has served the club so long is very few clubs at our level or above have looked to sign him as far as I’m aware
The reason he has ‘filled in’ at RB so much is he isn’t a great CB, his reading of the game has never been good enough
I don’t love or hate him, he’s clearly a good bloke off the pitch, but I’d say based on the money we have paid him he’s done better out us than we have out of him |

I saw an interview with Alex Bruce who played under him at Wigan and wasn’t very complementary, he talked about leaving for Kilmarnock and how good Steve Clarke was
He spoke well of Jim and said Keane was a good bloke if not a manager
Not sure how anyone can say Cook is good or bad yet, he is after all Wigan’s 2nd most successful manager in recent history behind Jewell |

I was at the Grimsby game too
Interesting to hear people saying how bad they thought it was
I remember we started the game well and missed 2 absolute sitters, Miller and Couñago if memory serves and completely dominated
Then out of nowhere Kabba roasted Wayne Brown and we were 2-0 down - Brown was horrific all game
Obviously we were shocking after that
For the sake of balance I just wanted to say I quite enjoyed the first 30 mins I think!
I’ve also maintained that had Burley stayed we would have made the play-offs that season as the relegation hangover was just taking time to go
Not knocking BFJ just that Burley knew the players better and would have found a rhythm like he had in past championship seasons to push through league |

Let’s be honest if PL had left last week and say Dyer was caretaker everyone would be saying that was a lot better and we just needed to take our chances
Doesn’t mean lambert shouldn’t get booted but we are a league one team with league one players so most games will be settled by the odd goal or missed chance
Hopefully for everyone’s sake he leaves next week but I’m not expecting us to start winning every week when it happens, the squad is a complete mess and needs a big overhaul |

it’s a big no from me
For me Dyer needs to prove himself as a manager to show he’s serious before he should be considered, is he a bored millionaire who lives in Suffolk or a serious football manager who will graft and go work anywhere that will help him develop
Worried by how many people live in a fantasy world thinking giving him the job now would be anything other than a disaster
How many rich ex England internationals have been successful in the lower leagues
Right now we need the next Chris wilder not tony Adams or Sol Campbell
Gerrard at Rangers and Lampard at derby are irrelevant as those jobs are very different to this one! Not sure i’d want lampard here either he didn’t take Derby up despite being handed the best players at that level by Chelsea in Mount and Tomouri |
