Shame to lose 2 points from such a strong position, but a game to learn from.
I see a few on social media having a pop at mckennas subs (with hindsight of course). The issue was conceding 3 mins after our second and giving them a free go at it for 15mins, along with some daft free kicks! Don't think mckenna has much choice but to throw on a defensive body at that point!
We move on! Comfortably ahead of 2 points per game! |

A predictable melt down!
Everyone saying we dont take cups seriously enough and a its a travesty should note the crowd was less than half of the opening day (no fingers pointed, an ok turnout but miles off league attendances). Also in the build up to the game there were countless predicted lineups showing 9 / 10 / 11 changes and no-one was overly concerned. The team should have been good enough to win, it was just one of those nights!
Move onto Saturday! Return to the strongest starting 11! COYB

A strange number of comments saying "we need a striker!!!" when this signing has zero impact on that!
We play 3 at the back, we therefore need 5 CBs on the books. Better Ndaba gets 30 - 40 games on loan than occasionally making a match day squad or being thrown in every 2 months as a last resort.
Blackpool fans seem very disappointed to lose him, that's always a good sign! |

Thought it easy to see how Richardson was the natural balancing act to Cook. His Wigan side are big and strong, well organised but lacked any real flair. The opposite attributes to us under cook.
Thought we played well. Won't go as far to say id rather play the way we do given Wigan's position but not far off!
Burgess MOTM for me. His distribution is far better than he is given credit for or I thought we'd have signed given the style he played at Accrington. |

Never seen a club so happy to go along with its own demise. 5 year contract for a manager despite abolsutely woeful form, having proved very little in the previous 15 months. 1 player in during january despite form.
The biggest concern though is lamberts in game management. Sears only on at 90. Only switched to 4 4 2 once we had 4 centre mids on the pitch..... |
