Clear economic explanation to this: The club will reduce tickets by 25% to test out how elastic us fans are to the change (how susceptible we are to change in price). If the number of tickets sold doesn't increase by 25% or more then the club will keep ticket prices as they are because they will receive more revenue that way. In regard to season ticket pricing, due to the price inelastic nature of them if they reduce prices only a few more people will buy, a smaller number than those that wld leave if the prices were kept the same thus giving itfc an incentive to keep prices the same as they wld generate more revenue to keep prices high! Even though this is not what the fans want! |
