AFCC & Keanish...agreed. That team will have Balance and the bench covers a multitude of positions..Colback deserves a place somewhere too on the bench, maybe swap for Pim, although cover at CB is now a bit thin. I hope Roy plays 4-4-2 from now on. |

I think several points raised give this poor lad away. Even considering a trip to Aintree over the town...no contest. Then bemoaning the fact that as the team had lost that "I had chosen the wrong activity" indicates a !"fan" with little moral fibre, missing the whole point of belonging and support. Also "Corpsing with laughter" whilst behaving like a teenage brat in "first Class" on the train. Now don't get me wrong, as the West Stand lower started many a song for the North Stand...and Churchmans on their day could raise a tune or two. But I suspect TimS that you may have missed out on the REAL experiences and sacrifice that "the many" supporters have witnessed, and reside with "the Few" Pioneer old moaners complete with Blanket, flask and Daily Mail. That said it's not Personal, it's a general observation.. so it includes you. No one can deny their heritage, and I think the style and content of the article gives an interesting depiction of you as a whole. So to summarise...I would like to hear what situations, trials and tribulations fans have been through to get to games etc. A recent experience for me was the news that Bobby Robson had passed away on 31st July 2009..My Car was in the local gagrage being "fixed" and ther was also a train strike. Undaunted i caught four seperate buses (to Newmarket...where i DIDN'T consider stopping at the races!!. Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket, and finaly, Ipswich) over a distance of 60 miles and four hours travel, I had to get to the friendly with Real Valladolid...I had to Pay my respects to the Boss. That, and many more stories of triumph over adversity,(I had to spend the night stranded at Norwich Train station After the recent 0-0 against Peterborough) is why I feel more connected with the club than someone who would be more dissapointed at missing the boat race!! Keep Supporting in your own way TimS...but be aware that the vast majority of us may not relate to your seemingly comfortable lifestyle. Therefore you may experience a fair ammount of criticism. Stories please everyone! on how you follow the Boys...UP THE TOWN! |

I shall endeavour to go..if only to enquire of the great man.."Is your middle name Morris?" More town players with automobile-sounding names available...Brian Talbot! I await some tenuous additions... |

A very informative article, you have taken a great deal of time and effort on this. The financial waters of our club, and many others seem very murky. I would suspect that Norwich Union's position was one of risk management. The affluent Marcus Evans offering a settlement to our effective repossession, the owner/s losing their "home" after desperately appealing for another chance to negotiate payment. The choice seems to have been Norwich Unions, and as a financial company i see their point. Our tangible assets and aspirations of promotion periodicaly waned, finaly reaching breaking point. Better to take half the money (if what you say is an accurate figure of £14 million)From a financially sound source, than keep trusting a bad debtor who's promises are no guarantee. Sadly that is business. We do have a short term saviour...and the possibility that success is close at hand..or unfortunately, success, like the cure for agoraphobia , is just around the corner.... |

I liked playing with Jason Dozzell..I am not convinced Trotter is that good. He seems to lack anticipation and is often found running forward to attack then back to defend with the ball being in the opposite place when he gets there. He's a big lad and could certainly blossom...but please read the game, and drive forward with the ball at your feet more please! |

An informative article. With so many employees at the club advising Roy on the existing players plus previously researched and earmarked targets, it's not surprising that SOME signings and departures have, with hindsight been misjudged. More recent signings have been Roy's decision too, and of better quality. He has played with the best, one would hope he has picked up a wee bit of knowledge about players essential qualities on the way. How many of us starting a new job as a manager would not be influenced by current assistants apraisal of staff. He has not had a six month probation period yet, and my guess is more staff being culled/found out, with better replacements sort by Roy and his backroom staff. some of the current squad have become stagnant over time, and it would be best for all concerned to let the manager bring in whoever he sees fit. I will judge Roy after the probational period and not before,(I ran the whole length of the stand at Bradford to shout a wholehearted DUNCAN OUT! after it became obvious that he was not up to the task in hand, but I was backing him to do things his way for a more than reasonable amount of time before that ) it is ludicrous to think anyone could lose their job without time to settle in and assess the quality of the stock they have inherited. We will find out soon enough if we have a good manager or not and most of us know the axe will be sharpened sufficiently enough or discarded when apraisal day comes...in the mean time more support like the Barnsley match PLEASE! |
