Don't understand the reluctance from Paul regarding Tommy Smith; he would probably sign for us, an experienced international, scores goals, can operate at CB or LB. It seems likely Wolfsden will leave sooner than later and Chambers must get dropped.

Normally I would not comment as generally most posts sum up how I feel.............but how a manager can sideline so many players with Championship experience, and using League 1 and 2 players in preference, is beyond my understanding.
I was looking forward to a new manager with an attractive footballing style to take over from MM, but this is going on too long with this collection of 'no-hopers'; the only exception seems to be Nolan and the 2 young loan players.
Hurst's comment about the big step up from U23 to playing first team football was an insult to players like Dozzell and Downes who were doing just that over the past 2 seasons.
Enough of my rant........except to say I have been supporting ITFC since their 3rd Div days.

What I fail to understand is why take an obviously talented player like Celina on loan & not play him? MM gives the impression that because he is not the box-box midfielder he prefers is that he would never had George Best as an automatic first choice either. Also, why is Wagthorn sitting on the bench when after the first 3 or 4 games he was our leading goalscorer. We have players now in the squad that should be told ' you can take this lot to the cleaners', not worry himself silly about what the opponents will do. |
