IP3 - just an observation from a few of the guys who are 'the accused' that I've seen.

JuniorScholes6 - I think the majority of things sang in a football ground aren't really acceptable outside of them. If I saw someone doing a slightly poor job as a traffic warden I wouldn't spend 5 minutes chanting at them that they are a w****r. I think any right minded person can see that the Fashanu song is wrong so wouldn't sing it.
But the song about Park at MU, 'Park Park wherever you may be, you eat dogs in your home country' - if I were to accuse a Korean colleague of mine of eating dogs I'd be in hot water with HR - but it's as racist in the context of a football song is as the one about Bent was.

Junior Scholes 6 - I remember a song after Darren Bent had been done for shooting a kid with a BB rifle or something that went "He's quick, he's black, he shoots kids in the back" or something similar - this wasnt seen as a racist song, it had people laughing at West Ham away.

Please can you realise that by saying 'it isn't necessarily a homophobic song even though it is extremely bad taste' translates to 'I think people should get away with singing it'

I give up - read the article. I'm not trying to defend it for a second, just trying to state that people with a stronger morale compass lead those without and then that means next time they think about singing it, they'll think twice - this statement will just antagonise them to do it again as they aren't mature/intelligent enough to realise that infamy amongst fans isn't a good thing.

Trimleysven - if the song stated he was black rather than gay would that make it a racist song? I don't for one second try and justify the song, was just stating that it isn't necessarily homophobic.

Whymark4 - get real. If you think 20k people from completely different class backgrounds and demographics all want the same experience you are mental. Im pretty tolerant of behaviour but this doesn't mean I partake in it. If I was party to genuine racist or homophobic chanting I would either speak to the people doing it or, if intimidated, report them to a steward. The majority of ITFC fans I know ate the same. If people were being unnecessarily rude tk stewards or police I think, and have seen in past, that the fans police themselves.

Nearly every song sung at PR or away is either Pro-Ipswich or Anti-Norwich - I'm happy with that.

I think the fact that some supporters of our club refer to these people as 'so-called fans' is arrogant in the extreme, and I guarantee the people ego create the atmosphere refer to the tartan blanket and thermos flask brigade in exactly the same terms. Neither are right.

People need to be more tolerant and if things genuinely offend them do something about it at the time, by speaking to them or a steward

I think this is a tad unfair....this small minority where the ones at the Bristol game who were in the ground when i got there at 2.15pm already singing and getting an atmosphere going - that was then praised by Jewell and Chopra.

People like different matchday experiences, how would they like it if I was an official supporters rep who put a message in programme saying 'our fans are rubbish all they do is sit down and moan and create no atmosphere and it is hindering the team and part of the reason why our home record has been so poor in recent years - stand up sing and make the atmosphere to inspire our players'

Problem is exacerbated away because people who normally sit North Lower end up sitting next to someone who sits in Britannia or family enclosure....I'm sure they'd be shocked if they sat where I sit on a standard home game.....

Cropper Signs Deal

I can't imagine Westlake was shipped out as a bad influence, met him a few times and was a bit cocky but a decent bloke.

I think it is more to do with fact we got offered money and Dan Harding for him, and we wanted DH as were short of a LB - and money!!

Keane: Unbelievably Bad Defending
at 19:46:27

Firmfoundation - this talk of people not wanting to play foe keane is unfounded, we have had numerous players who played under keane return. Also when keane was sland manager he literally took chopra in when he was having problems and have him live under his roof so if he'll move for anyone it'll be keane

Boothroyd Not Commenting on Lisbie Return
at 13:39:39

We owe colchester or Lisbie nothing, if they want him buy him. I doubt Colchester are even fully subsidising his wages so why should we do them any favours?
