Middlesbrough 4-1 Town - Match Report
at 23:02:26

Guys don't freak out it was a hard fixture and a point would have been a good result. We only need to finish 6th for playoffs which is only 1 point above us with only Wolves and Brentford's results to worry about and they aren't exactly on fire themselves. Top 6 is a good season for us. I would love it if we beat Norwich in the playoff final. How good would that be?

McCarthy: Neither Side Did Enough to Win
at 19:49:35

Agree with Blaine. We didn't do as well as we had hoped but its not THAT bad to draw 0-0. We did play well for spells but there are a lot of variables going on here and it would be stupid to simplify it to that we should have won because we played a team who haven't won in a long time. How many times do you see upsets in this league? Well there are a lot worse than this. Plenty of games left to try for 6th spot.

Town Out for First Away Win at Wednesday
at 21:17:43

@thebeat

not if we let in 2 in said half lol

Seriously though that was a one-off in my mind and I am sure Mick has ensured that won't be happening again should we find ourselves with a 2 or more goal lead. We all know how good he made our defence last season through organisation and hard work.

Who Should My Son Support?
at 01:38:23

Don't know about everyone else here but I like the fact that I support a team that isn't your standard Man Utd Chelsea etc because it shows that you are a proper supporter and not just along for the ride glory hunting.

It is different in England but where I live everyone supports Man Utd etc and it just seems like a cheap option to me. Maybe your son will appreciate supporting a team that isn't top flight because it is not glory hunting as I say but lets face it, any team can go up or down in the coming years so it is hard to predict. Although it is always nice to say you supported a team before they were good too (and actually be telling the truth) so I would recommend ITFC because you can really get behind them and call yourself a true fan.

The other teams you mention are Premier League (apart from option 4) which may not be a good thing if you share my view. Option 4 seems like a good option in so much as it lets him watch a lot more matches. Be prepared that your son may end up supporting the non-league side for his own reasons and end up not sharing your love for town.

I do believe you should go for Ipswich and he is impressionable enough to support any team you choose for him lets be honest :)

Leicester's Wellens Signs On Loan

Even if it is a short term loan that doesn't mean its desperation. We may have other options in time that we perhaps do not have at the moment.

JAITFC lets be fair here, a player not getting into a team doesn't mean hes not good it can mean several other things. Andy Carroll is a good player and you would expect him to get into Liverpools 11 but he does not. There are tactics to consider as well as synergy within the team. It is not just a case of the best 11 players make the best team.

It is not uncommon for a player who can't get into one team be able to get into a different team who could be better if they fit in well enough.

After looking at all that, I don't think its that odd that he would come to us and could do very well if the conditions are right. PJ seems to be fussy enough about other players he has looked at so who are we to say this guy isn't going to be just what we are looking for?

Don't Forget Your Barnsley Prediction

Come on support the team. Ipswich win 3-1!

Seriously, negative support could be a big factor in extending a losing streak. We have had them in the past and survived but we can't always assume we will be ok. Let's support the team and help make this streak as short as possible.

Jewell: A Rude Awakening
at 20:28:35

Guys relax! OK we lost 6-0 but its not exactly the worst defeat ever recorded and it just means we missed out on either 1 or 3 points away to what looks like one of the best teams in the league. Zero points from a single hard game is ok. Goal difference is set back a bit but lets face it, it is insignificant when a single goal can be worth 2 points in another game (such as the previous one) so lets get behind the team for the next game because I am sure they will want to make amends. COYB!

Jewell: We Did Enough to Win
at 00:46:27

Lets face it, it doesn't really matter all that much what result we got but since PJ sorted out the tactics after the transfer window I have high hopes for next season based on our results and improved defensive record since then. We did well to stick with the cheeky scouser and I would be very surprised to see us finish bottom half next season and would only be happy with 6th place or above to be honest. I am of course assuming that we will be bringing in the right kind of players this time round in the summer and won't have to worry about players going back to their main club every few weeks!

Jewell: We Did Enough to Win

Why do so many people blame defenders for letting in goals? That is to over simplify football too much. A football team can have the best back four in the league and still concede more goals than anyone depending on the midfield or even just the way the team plays. It is not as simple as to say team X lets in a lot of goals therefore they must have 4 really bad players in defence.

In our case our defenders are not as bad as they seemed to many of us earlier in the season (and to some even now) and since PJ tweaked the tactics our goals against record has vastly improved without scoring a lot less ourselves. For this reason I do not think a player such as Cresswell should be automatically ruled out as it is a team effort and not his fault if we let in a lot of goals this season. If he had made a lot of individual errors then thats another story. The same goes for all the defenders, I am not just sticking up for Cresswell.

Jewell Delighted to Be On Right End of Last Gasp Winner
at 16:07:58

bobble what kind of flawed logic is that? don't you think there is a possibility it could be any one of the other thousand factors that you should take into account? who is to say that we would be any worse off if stockdale was still here? id say we would be a lot better off personally. he may have been here when we were on a bad run but the whole season has been a bad run really and i think you have to look at more than coincidences to begin to understand why.

I know it was only the bottom team we beat but lets remember that this league is very tight and Coventry have to fight harder than anyone at the moment and it was away from home. Coventry had won their last 3 home games so based on form we had a very tough away game anyway.

It seems if we ever go behind we are very good at coming back as long as its not right at the end of the match and we are reduced to 10 men so I have high hopes for the future.

i know we lose the lead almost every game but i mean against leeds we were playing well and looked good to see out the win. leeds looked out of options. what i meant was the mix up that led to the GKs sending off. If only we could hold on to leads we would be in the play-offs! so lets not kid ourselves, the team isn't that bad, we are just missing a certain je ne sais quoi!

come on you blueeees!

our team isn't a bad team i don't know why people are saying we are definitely going down. we just need to be able to hold on to our leads.

we have shown we can score first on a regular basis so its not as if we are just plain bad. we lost against leeds due to a mixup at the back. thats not going to happen every week!

Portsmouth Players Not Paid
at 23:26:23

alagrvefan I think we have a good chance of staying up so I would like to remain positive and getting behind the team will increase our chances. We are starting the sign to right kind of players now after learning a valuable lesson in the past couple of seasons and next season could well be a different story if we stay up. Even if we do miss on getting more permanent signings this window then at least we have the cash to get some loans in as a short term measure which has to be good enough to avoid the drop. Not being a poor club enables us to pay higher wages to attract better loan players which will be worth it to avoid the drop but as I say - a short term solution for this season.
