Murphy Completes Newcastle Move
at 14:47:50

I think it is a great deal, I think when I saw him against Norwich I thought that he had lost half a yard of pace since his outstanding season of 2 years ago, a season that I doubt he will ever replicate again. Interesting to see who comes in as his replacement, if we don't spend a significant percentage of this fee on probably a couple of players it will give us all a indication of Marcus Evans intentions with the club?? Are we the first club in history to be taken over by a near billionaire who then tries to save money??

Dozzell: Dalian Was Unplayable on His Day
at 19:12:08

As a school child we went to interview Sergei for a media studies project and got the chance to watch the first team train, I remember standing behind Ron Fearons goal while Dalian took shots at him from distance and the power and accuracy amazed me, haven't to this day seen a shot hit harder. I was also at the home game against middlesborough when he destroyed them on his own. Truly great player on his day and one of only a handful of players who have played for Ipswich over the last 30years who would have got anywhere the 1981 team, he was that good. Thanks Dalian for the memories

Owner Evans 146th Richest
at 17:46:01

Interesting that Steve Gibson Middlesborc chairman was 451st in the list in 2012 net worth approximately a third of Evans, yet which club has invested heavily on last season and where are they heading now? Marcus you are a businessman, are you going to speculate to accumulate?

McCarthy: No Complaints About Style When We Were in the Top Six
at 08:39:55

Oh Mick, you have to acknowledge that this season has been a disappointment, both results and performance. Although we do probably have one of the smaller squad budgets in the league I wouldn't mind betting your one of the best paid managers in this league? Maybe that is why you are prepared to accept what Evans gives you in respect of a budget? I personally think you are now at a crossroads, either you demand a bigger budget to improve the squad or you walk away with you head held high, if not I guess you are just hanging around for the pay cheque as no one in their right mind thinks this current squad will get us promoted next season

McCarthy Not Bothered Where the Points Are Won
at 07:01:13

Watching Saturday's game, and I fully accept we had the most chances and won the game, but did we string more than a few passes together? I know about Budget restraints and fully accept them and accept MM was done a amazing job with what he has been given but is it to much to ask to see some passing and movement instead of just kick and rush? As supporters I feel we look back at the Robson era a little to much as that is now history and due to the way the game has changed I doubt a club of our size will ever be as successful again, but I think we tend to ignore the Burley era where good attacking football was played under economic restraints which led to the most succesful period for us in the last 25 years, ok it ended badly but at least we had nearly ten years of good football

McCarthy: Bad Habit Must Stop
at 20:17:21

I read a Daily Mail article before the home leg of the West Ham playoff semi final which said whoever lost that game wouldn't go up for the next 20 years due to the financial situation of both clubs and remember thinking what a outrageous thing to write, but unfortunately it is starting to look true. Other teams in this league are investing large sums to obtain promotion ie Derby, Reading, Sheffield Wed and we are not competing with them off field and it is starting to show on the field. We did incredibly well last year with no investment and this summer I believe Marcus Evans had 2 choices, to invest in players to kick on and try and get promoted this year or to continue with the cheaper option of loans and free transfers, it is obvious he has chosen the latter. The real problem he has now the supporters expectations has risen sharply due to the success of last season and mid table this year would be seen as a major disappointment.
We should maybe also look at last season a little more carefully, Boxing Day was the first time in 10 years I actually thought we had a chance of promotion, the form after that was erratic and when we lost to Blackburn on the last day, if it hadn't been for Reading beating Derby we wouldn't have made the playoffs, which if I am not mistaken would have been one of the first times a team in the top 2 at Xmas didn't even make the playoffs

Mings Agrees Terms With Cherries in £8m Deal
at 18:30:14

If I remember rightly the boy Fraser is a good player, Pittman although he has scored goals at championship level always looked to slow but hopefully he will do well. From reading the EADT they are saying Mick had to sell to have any funds and out of all the players I would have sold Mings but it does ask the question are we the first club to be taken over by a near billionaire who wants to save money? Owning a football club is a thankless task, constantly shelling out but he must have been aware of this when he bought the club, blaming FFP for not spending when others are is wearing a bit thin, especially when we have just sold a player to a club who clearing ignored FFP and were backed by a owner who was prepared to put his money up? Everyone will now shout Keane and Jewell wasted his money and I agree with them but who appointed them in the first place? If another player has to go I would say Mcgoldrick, I personally think he is our best player on his day but I think he is running his contract out so we might as well cash in now and get something for him to reinvest

It's Not All Doom and Gloom

Really good article, I didn't want Mick as manager but what he has achieved is amazing. For the first time in years the buzz is back around the club and we are all looking forward to next season

Norwich City 3-1 Town (4-2 on Aggregate)
at 19:12:01

Gutted, but why is our play off record so bad? We have been in the playoffs 8 times, more times than any other club and won just once? If you also take into account League Cup semi finals that is 11 chances to get to Wembley and we have only been there once? On a different note, thought we played really well and I truly believe that if Berra had not been sent off, to lose a goal and a player was a real hammer blow, we would have gone on and won the game, I never bought in to the Norwich are miles better than us and over 2 legs until the sending off we were the better team. Hope Boro stuff them next week

Town Confirm Barnett Loan
at 18:55:08

I really hope he does well but if you were Peterborough chairman, would you loan him to one of your relegation rivals if he is that good? As for Chopra, I believe he is one of the clubs biggest earners, reportedly 15,000 a week, I just think it is time to draw a line under him and see if he could be sacked for his part in the race fixing scandal, he has bought the clubs name in to disrepute, he is earning a massive wage for doing absolutely nothing and this money could be used in January for rebuilding the squad, obviously I would transfer list him and try to sell him, but I just cant see any takers unless we paid the majority of his salary. Chopra sums up the whole Evans era in my opinion, signed on the cheap, due to off field problems, paid huge wages and achieved nothing, the list is endless, Norris,Priskin, Lisbie, Bullard, Leadbetter, O'Dea, Sumuloski, Delaney, Martin to name but a few
