I have very fond memories of watching John O’Rourke play as it was at a time I first started to go to some away matches and he was a regular goal scorer. I think you will find that he actually scored more goals away from home than at Portman Road.
I remember him from his playing days when I used to watch them training at Portman Road. I was struck by his enthusiasm and cheerfulness. It didn't subsequently surprise me that he stayed in the game for the rest of his career.
I'm shocked to read this terrible news as I knew Gordon from when I was a member of the London Branch. In 2001/2 season we shared an Away Passport. I went to the Midlands and the Northern games whilst Gordon covered the London and Southern grounds. Life is so fragile. RIP Gordon.
