I would be going barmy if I knew my pension fund was being used on a football club.. I think it was Alan Sugar who said owning a football club was the quickest way be a millionaire but you have to 10 million to start with... |
| News Comment | Banished Duo Angered By Manager's Comments at 21:17:28
I'm sorry but these players are paid to represent our team and as much as I am not a fan of Lamberts formations and denial of poor performances. He is the boss and if he asks them to travel to the other side of the country then that's is what they should do. I am sure you would not have sympathy for a lorry driver with a 6 month old child having to work away from home. |
| News Comment | Lambert: Something Drastically Wrong Going Right Through the Club and It’s Not Good Enough at 23:27:36
The club has to be realistic as to what we are and what we can achieve, at the moment we are seen as a big team in the wrong league. Being forced to pay over the odds on wages and fees for bang average players. The truth be told with the owner we have and the support he is offering the managers we are probably where we should be. A good portion of our team are ex England youth players who have grown up being told how wonderful they are and how they will play at a top level. Truth is we need a group of players that will scrap and chase every ball down and play for each other,. You can't teach that. It's pure hunger to do your best for your team. We need to start again and get that desire back,, the taste of winning or at least knowing when you walk off that field there was nothing else you could of done.. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-3 Swindon Town - Match Report at 03:09:41
Well I have to say they didn't play to badly with one up top!!! An overweight aged and clearly struggling Brett Pitman who was deemed not good enough for us at least 5 years ago led their line. Their right back was no spring chicken either. I don't know why we didn't try swapping wingers Jackson's pace on the left may of caused him some issues. The question is if you could swap any of their players for ours in the same position? If the answer is no then we should be looking at the management and coaching team. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-3 Portsmouth - Match Report at 08:54:31
A good effort and yes things certainly seem to be against us at the moment but the reality is we went one step further than Bury town in the FA cup this year and Norfolk currently have 2 teams still left in the competition. Saying that Portsmouth are on par with Ipswich with their history and exceptional fan base. Best visiting fans we have at Portman Road. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-0 Gillingham - Match Report at 04:29:19
Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't we only ever lost two games in this competition in the last two seasons? And both losses occurred when we played the first team? We seem to play nice flowing entertaining football when the lads play and we win,, Let the younguns go as far as they can this year don't get excited by a trophy if we do progress further and be tempted to play the first team again, it's not fair on those lads. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Arsenal U21s - Match Report at 04:09:00
Playing the youngsters in this competition last year was one of the only highlights in a pretty dismal season. And let's face it we only got knocked out last year when we put the seniors in. Give the boys a chance match the U21s against ours. Let's not forget the likes of Dozzel, Bishop, Downes, Dobra etc are now senior players. We should already be looking to the next crop to be coming through and tearing the shirts from the under performing first team... |
| News Comment | EFL Statement Rules Out Extended Play-Offs at 06:43:19
It's embarrassing that our once great club will not be gracious and just vote to finish the league as it is. We are now driven by greed as we rely on the gate money to stem our self made losses. To put us in the same greed category as Portsmouth and Sunderland is not the greedy bracket that I would like to see us in. Reality is if the smaller clubs in league 1 are forced to play these games they just can't afford to do it and would probably result in more teams going bankrupt.. Do the right thing Town and throw in the towel.. We are not good enough to go up so end the season cut out the dead wood and give youth a go.. Whats the worst that could happen??? |
| News Comment | Chambers: We Still Feel We've Got an Opportunity at 12:19:35
Sorry Luke the number of games is no excuse as the youth team were playing in the trophy and the league cup and FA cup runs were shorter than Clive Baker. As for the pressure of playing in front of 20k crowds that is why most of the players joined the club or aspired to do when coming through the system. Playing with no confidence to put the ball in the box is what causes issues as they are worried once they lose possession they have to rely on you when is comes to getting the ball back and defending..,, no wonder they have lack in confidence. |
| News Comment | Blackpool 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 08:30:27
From what I could see yesterday they were terrified to put the ball in the box as they were scared to lose possession. That tells me there is no faith in the back line or goalkeeper. They were proved right in the last min. Simpson is a beast stick him up top go down the wings and stick the ball in the box.. it's league 1 not the premiership. Simples... |
| News Comment | O'Neill: We Turned Down Bids Into the Millions at 16:40:15
Not sure we are even in the top 3 clubs in east anglia. I have to say I would have to consider carefully if I was offered the current Colchester squad and manager over our squad that's allegedly worth millions!!! |
| News Comment | O'Neill: We Turned Down Bids Into the Millions at 14:57:56
Well these superstars had better pull their finger out as those around us have made some significant signings. And show their intent to get out of this league... |
| News Comment | Bart Set to Stay at Millwall at 19:47:00
So what if Manchester United now offered us 10 mil in this transfer window could we not sell our own player??? |
| News Comment | Exeter City 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 08:28:28
I actually feel a bit sorry for Lambert regarding this game. The fans were screaming for him to start a strong team and to be fair he did. Sears and Keane upfront would of been an acceptable partnership in the championship. Dozzell and Bishop being guided by Skuse should work on paper. And Holy was back in goal. The reality is that had we of thrown in the under23s who play together week in week out they would of probably beaten a 2nd string team from the lowest tier of English football. They have done it throughout this competition before yesterday. Whilst I understand the luxury of squad rotation I'm afraid at this level it's not the quality of the footballer that will win the game it will be the desire and determination that will get the victory and knowing your team mates are working just as hard as you... |
