At 34 and with the previous knee injury, we Jon is going to have to miss certain games, but I hope his p attitude helps the younger lads in the dressing room.

Hurst: I Really Enjoyed it Apart From Their Goal
at 15:38:39

Some of the comments on here really do make me laugh and whilst I understand that everyone has an opinion (they are like ar**holes, everyone has one).

What I witnessed yesterday from my season ticket seat in the lower North stand is a performance that for the first time in many years in an Old Farm Derby entertained me.

Yes two sides that are now going through a period of some change, but for periods of the game we were on the front foot, winning battles in the midfield and creating chances in the game to suggest we could actually win it.

You can't all but change the complete side and expect instant success, I have witnessed energy and commitment in yesterdays and the Aston Villa game that suggests that we have potential as a team. Nolan and Edwards didn't look out of place and now that we have a wise old head up front in Walters, I do believe that we have a chance of creating enough to win games and climb the table. As a Beccles boy, trust me, the coneheads north of the border are deeply concerned, their fans the quietest I have heard them at our place for a number of years and in truth (unlike expressed by Farke, there was only one side that deserved all three points yesterday and it wasn't Narwich).

The wins will come as long as we keep the faith, we will get better with game time and as Mick Mills said so wisely yesterday on the Radio Suffolk phone in, over the international break we need to be playing several 11 v 11 games at Playford Road and develop the understanding. Jackson and Harrison need a goal to get started, as does Nolan and once they get one, it will be like buses several will follow.

Thank you for entertaining me yesterday Town, whilst I remained a Mick In fan, you are convincing me that maybe a change was due and that given time, we will be impressed with the passion and performances and the wins.

Jackson Set to Complete Move on Thursday
at 18:57:51

People seem to be missing the major factor here that in McGoldrick, Garner, Waghorn we have lost over 30+ goals from the team and replaced them with league 1 & 2 level replacements. My prediction sadly is that none of them will come anywhere close to that combined figure this season, leaving us hoping that the better quality midfielders like Huws get fit enough to contribute to the goals!!!!!

Derby New Favourites to Land Waghorn in Dramatic Late Twist
at 21:27:24

How sad that we can't even compete at this level now and it seems we are moving closer to league 1 rather than any chance of the top flight again. We have an owner who is happy to invest money into the youth set up, the same one that has witnessed our best two promising youngsters being sold to Chelsea and Man City in the last year without even kicking a ball in a first team Ipswich shirt. Is it just me or does it feel like our club is going backwards again?

Town Meet Shrews' Valuation for Nsiala and Nolan as Signings Get Closer
at 07:46:36

I laugh at those you stated on here that its disappointing to read negative post. Are these the same people who do openly slated Mick last season?

I to am very concerned about the lack of real quality in our side. The bench yesterday was made up of boys and we got away with a draw by a freak goal in the final few minutes. The defence was a shambles for both Blackburn goals so very unimpressed. I think we are in for a very long season here everyone!!!!

Shrewsbury Reveal Bids for Nolan and Nsiala
at 06:16:06

Deeply concerned that we continue to purchase lower league average players and that the majority of Town fans on here seem happy with that????

If we build a team full of average lower league players we become an average lower league club in my opinion!!!! Be careful what you wish for.....

Hurst: Adeyemi Will Have to Grit his Teeth and Get on With It
at 05:46:10

Another strange and not required comment for me by a junior man manager who is in danger of creating serious early unrest within his team. Be careful Mr Hurst this is not the best direction to take so openly slating the very players that week in and week out are going to get in the trenches for you?

Hurst: There Have Been Waghorn Bids But Not at a Value We'd Consider
at 19:01:32

We are one week from kick off and in danger of losing without much doubt our main star and goal threat. Am I the only one who is now exceptionally worried for our season ahead. We (fans) have put pressure onto a seasoned professional manager who saved us from certain relegation and replaced him with a young, totally unknown and unproven manager who has purchase a couple of lower league players in the hope they will hit the Championship running.

Where are the regular goals coming from?
Who is going to create the chances from midfield?
Who is going to be the strength in the middle of defence?

Answers on a postcard please to PO Box I fear the worst!!!

Hurst Wants More Positive Mentality From Town
at 07:21:13

All the commentsyou would expect to hear, but sorry guys I'm still to be convinced that the club have taken the right direction. Will be interesting to hear what the excuses are when one of the quality Chanpionship sides come to PR and tear us apart with our more positive football???

These comments are designed at getting the fans on side and little else. We are clearly lacking goals at present and I hope like all Town fans that the young lad brought in yesterday brings some with him. The issue we have had for many, many, many years at our beloved club is that we lack quality and goals from midfield. Until we address that we will always be at this level...

Please, please, please Mr Hurst for the love of god prove me wrong this season!!!!

I guess earning money as a commercial radio pundit on an all expenses trip to the World Cup in Russia might have something to do with it 😉

If you decide to go with a lower league manager, you are faced with attracting lower league players. I was one who clearly stated ‘be careful what you wish for' and now that comment echos around my head.

I'm anything but inspired by PH at present (and believe me I so hope that I am wrong and on here acknowledging the fact a few months into this season), but the fact is the bookies are seldom that wrong. We have taken a lower league sports science mad average manager and propelled him into probably one of the most difficult leagues in the World. Whilst most of you will disagree with my comments, I hardly see any team and/or club officials racing to the phone to take a call from PH and whilst you might hate me for saying this, those same people are much more likely to pick up the phone and discuss experienced or young promising players on the phone with MM.

You don't know how much I want to be wrong here, but I've been watching this game for a very long time (and played it previously at quite a high level), it's the way football works. It's not what you know, but as much who you know. In PH I'm really not convinced and if we get off to a poor start, I wonder how long it is for several of the (at times) vile Ipswich followers to pick up their over opinionated mouth organs and keyboards and be out there bringing the players and staff confidence down.

RIP our beloved club...

Birmingham Set to Make Bialkowski Bid Claim as Amos Linked as Replacement
at 21:27:14

Seems to me that we continue to prepare for League 1 at the end of next season. A league 1 manager followed by the sale or release of our best assets. Say what you all like about Mick, but I trust his judgement for dealing in the basement bargain bin more than a guy who has sold fish in Grimsby and then turned Shrewsbury into a semi competitive side!

Knight Turned Down Spurs to Join City
at 09:16:31

So, what's the point of having a youth system now?

Evans keeps stating that he is piling money into the youth set up, to basically bring our young players on until a big club takes them. People wonder why fans in their thousands are being turned off from the beautiful game. Oh, and the £1 million we received for such a promising young player will probably be spent getting in an old lower league has been and paying his loan wages for a while.

Am I the only one who is starting to lose faith, what hope have we ever got???

Town Confirm Hurst Appointment
at 17:55:06

What makes me laugh the most is watching those comments from log in names who were on here massively slating Marcus Evans only weeks ago and are now congratulating him on a top appointment. The same fans who hounded Mick out of his job. I really do pray that Paul Hirst gets off to a good start and is given time by the arm chair stay away brigade....
