Beattie Guilty of Benefit Fraud

Blueoff, your views worry me to the core. Not only are they statistically incorrect, they also display you as a bigot. You, sir, are also a racist, which makes you a far bigger criminal than poor Beattie here.

Shergar, do you get off on belittling people? There was no need to completely lambast this blog, which is just an individual's opinion. Your response had no opinion in it whatsoever; it was plain spite and nastiness.

Jewell: Location Can Hit Loans
at 15:21:01

Sooo many of you guys are totally missing the context of what Jewell has said here. Jewell states that when looking for loanees, it can be hard to convince them to up sticks and temporarily move a long way to what is deemed by many, unfairly so in my opinion, as a backwoods town with nothing of interest in the area. Keane stated that nobody would sign permanently, let alone temporarily because of the location and of course, that's a load of twoddle but I can understand what Jewell is saying in this instance.

So bloody glad that some ITFC fans still are thinking sanely. Yes, definite work to be done and Centrebacks are needed pronto but the attack and midfield are contenders in my opinion.

All is not lost.

Jewell Under No Pressure This Season
at 09:30:47

For me, the only pressure I'm putting on Jewell this season is to show a marked improvement in play and league position. If we get promoted, awesome, but I'm prepared for the fact that we could play blinders and win a high proportion of games but still finish outside the playoffs because of the league competition, especially this coming season.

I feel Jas0999's comments are unfair. Every manager deserves a clean slate. I'm not going to slate Jewell after a few poor matches, neither did I slate Keane, or Magiltion before him until it was apparent that the style of play had deterioated. Jewell has so far escaped criticism because he has helped save us from relegation and done bloody well in the transfer window. That for me deserves a bit of a pat on the back, don't you think? The process of turning Town around from the kicking we got from Keane is a slow one and won't happen in one season.

O\'Connor Turns Down Crawley Switch
at 09:17:53

Pessimistic - "Shane deserves better than this in my view."

How do you mean? Jewell's not booting him out the door. Certain other managers would probably have terminated his contract and cast him away. It's Shane's choice not to have gone to Crawley (which I can understand but it's a big gamble...)

It's obvious that there's something that Jewell doesn't like about him, whether it's his conduct or style of play, no one is to know. He does seem to be able to offer something to a team, especially in League 1, so I'm suprised that no one has come in for him yet but to say he deserves better treatment is I think a little harsh on the training staff/management.

Jewell Under No Pressure This Season
at 08:50:09

I love that he wants to build for the future too. Jewell seems to want to create a legacy that will keep us in the Premiership (should we get there). Means he's not just thinking about the next 2 years i.e. his current contract; he wants to make a success of Town whoever is in charge.

Jewell Not Ruling Out Fülöp Move

So pleasing to see Jewell saying good things about people, even when they're nowhere near the first team. Good to see that some managers still actually give a cr@p about players and treat them like human beings.

Wright Training at Cardiff

Should Richard come back, I guess he would be the last of the old guard of Town 'stars'?

Let's hope the newbies Jewell's brought in this pre-season can step up to the plate and create the new breed.

Town Watch Scottish Striker
at 14:18:52

I'm a little bit worried that this could mean that Jewell & co aren't as sure about the possible JET signing going through and are covering their backs.

I agree with most posters though, especially the guy who said that we should concentrate on defence and midfield during this window. Maybe (try to) sell Scotland in January and keep Murphy on the back-burner until then.

Jewell Expecting Double Signing On Monday
at 12:54:15

I don't think Fulop will be sold. On his day he is awesome too, just look what he can do from that Cardiff away game last season. He does seem to have made a shaky start to this preseason though but I think Jewell has faith in him enough to keep him 2nd keeper spot if Stockdale does come.

I have this feeling that Jewell is gonna stick with Edwards, or maybe even give Peters a chance in right-back if he can't find a suitable player on the market. i'd love to hear news of a decent centre-back coming in soon though, must admit!

Jewell Expecting Double Signing On Monday

If it's Stockdale and JET then I'll be over the moon but yes, a defender is definitely a prority. I still feel though that we have the basis of a really good team that will evolve over this coming season and the next. Bring on August and booooooo to the doom and gloom brigade!

Jewell: Mentality Needs to Change
at 10:06:03

Ipswich24 - I'd be more than happy with a line-up like that. If we were to get those players in We're sorted. Got a really good feeling about the Haroun and Treacy links. They've gone quiet but Jewell hasn't discounted them like he has with others. there must be irons in the fire.

Jewell: Mentality Needs to Change
at 09:32:01

It's not Jewell bringing down the expectations of the club and its fans, it's US LOT!! One crappy result - IN PRE-SEASON, and people are already spouting doom and gloom. This is exactly what happened last year. The fans started the season negatively. We have a responsibility to cheer on the players and the manager, not to overly criticise at the first sign of trouble, especially when we now have a manager that knows the weaknesses and is working bloody hard in my opinion to sort it out.

We'd be crap if we went to war, or something. We'd end up all just shooting ourselves in the head! Forget the player's winning mentality, where's ours?!
