Anyone else having weird Ipswich Town based dreams?
at 11:10 3 May 2024

To dream presupposes we sleep - and my problem in all of this is that I'm hardly sleeping!

We haven't lost to anyone in the bottom half
at 13:13 1 May 2024

Not so long ago we made a habit of losing to bottom half clubs. zero confidence that we'd win must win games, etc. No longer! In two years that's all changed and I just cant see us not beating Hudds on Saturday.

Kieran McKenna - Demolition Man?
at 08:56 1 May 2024

No way will he be the demolition man. I’m expecting it to be more of a rotation - so most of the fringe players will be let go and replaced by improvements on current first teasers, who will then become the ressies and fringe players.

It will be sad to see players we’ve come to love over the last 3 years go, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see significant upgrades in the defence (in my opinion this is where most work needs to be done) so Fridge and Clarke could see game time limited to crisis time only. Mass will be on the bench, and quite possibly Hirst and Chappers too.

Really hope we’ll sign Hutch, but the other loaners will all need replacing, and I expect thier replacements will be ready made Prem standard permanent.

True, but hasn’t happened in the league all season. No reason to expect it to on the biggest game for 20 years.

How many times have we heard it, but if ever there is a game where it’s true this has to be it.

I’m so nervous - I dare not believe that we will win but in my heart of hearts I know that if we play like we usually do we really should.

For goodness sake … COYB.

Would you take a draw tonight if offered right now?
at 18:39 30 Apr 2024

100% yes. I’m nervous about tonight and don’t see it as an easy win. But I have no doubt that we’ll win on Saturday.

My legs are like jelly and my stomach is churning.

I fear that the togetherness of the squad would be severely tested when we start to lose and as confidence is eroded by the week in, week out power of the Premiership. I know it’s not all we have, but it won’t be enough to do well in the prem.

Starting as strong as he can - I like that. No holding a bit back in case and only bring8ng burns and Hirst on if needed. Looks to me like he really gets the 8mportance of this game

Dr Dan Poulter defects to Labour!
at 19:32 27 Apr 2024

Point of fact before I answer your question - I’m not actually a traditional Tory voter. I have voted for them occasionally, but more often that not I’ve voted for a different colour 🙂

I didn’t vote for them last time and I won’t vote for them this time -and truth be told, I don’t actually know many people who say they will (and I live in a solidly Tory village!).

I don’t mind Sunak but his party is tired, we need something different. They have been badly, badly tarnished for me by Johnson’s blatant lying about just about everything. For a while I thought he did a good job at the start of Covid, but everything that’s come out since shows it was a load of bull.

Two of my children work in the NHS (one is a Dr, one a sister, the other child is a high school teacher. All of them bemoan what this government have done (or not done) to thier professions. Thing is, they are clever kids and have no confidence that any of the others will do any better. The NHS is broken, utterly broken and no one has any idea how to fix it. Throwing money at it won’t do it (says my Dr son) but it is no longer fit for purpose.

Time for someone else to have a go - but I fear they won’t make much of a better job.

I live in his constituency - and I think it could be a very close run thing. Very few conservatives are safe at the moment. Johnson hoodwinked a lot of people and his bluster quickly unravelled, with no one able to provide any substance since.

Would like to th8nk they will come out to attack us - which defo plays to our strengths.

However, a draw would not mean it’s all over for them

True. But currently more important to leave Hull and Cov with nothing to play for I reckon.
