Well said it takes guts to come out and say that about your team mates why cant we sign Wellens his got passion....also I hope Mick brings in a policy of NO TWEETING about the team or politics ...it really bugs me some of these players think there some sort of A listed celebs grrr get on with the football you pamperd idiots and get goals I dont go to see you I go to see Ipswich town win reason being your not Ipswich that I know and love the players of the past had pride in the shirt and loved being part of Ipswich Town so far all I see is a bunch of Ryland type spoilt little Bs tweetuing about how hard life is I hope MM kicks your arses out of the club back to wence you came..get the message!!!! |

What a very intersting and provoking blog well done you brought up a lot of well considered points and things that undelye a clubs performance:
My feelings are very similar I know that in my experience I need to respect someone who is commanding me so with the players Im sure they are the same to run that extra yard and I would need to be able to be free to express myself and talent in my role..
I think Bobby Robson was a real Gentleman but in the dressing room Im sure he would use differnt techneques to muster the players ...icluding thowing boots and pens etc...some Managers are very good at reassuring players and taking the pressure off certain individuals so they can be more creative and if they see something thats working they will incourage the use of that listening to the players there the ones on the pitch if there having difficulties tying down there man or seeing holes on the pitch and incorperating those ideas tetc... which is what Bobby Robson done
I remeber watching the players take to the field they always looked boyant and happy even if we were down 1 or 2 nil(it didnt happen that often though...being down 2 -0) because Bobby would reassure them to stick to the plan be pateint the goals will come
Also dropping players is a very emotive issue some players take it as a big hit to there ego others simply take it in there stride new players can really upset the team moral also if they think there better than the team or have an attitude all these things the Manager has to watch and stamp on.
Then there was John Lyle another great Manager would encorporate things from diffent teams for example we played Wimboldon who from a throw on threw to the head of a player who back headed the ball to a player waiting behind him we used that tactic many times and scored goals from it thats something to look for....
To sum up I dont think PJ is a bad manger but I also think he really is up against the odds to be succesful without the money to put into plying staff simple really... the players we have got are really very good but there is something amiss and like everyone else I wish I could put my finger on the problem but I think its a bigger problem than will be fixed overnight. |

Looking now at the situation Im feeling more uncertain than ever about PJs future I personally would give him 4 more games to turn it around ok we are without our strike force and weve got a really on form Barnsley followed by Brighton then Cardiff and Hull... the cards are really stacked against us right now...will PJ see these games through to the bitter end or conceade I hope he stays and makes a fight of it I truly believe he is a good man but I am appauled at how the owner ME has distributed such a pualtry budget to Paul we pay the players some of the lowest wages in this division what on earth can PJ do with that he has had some fantastic targets all of which fell through on personal terms nothing to do with PJ...you have to cut with both sides of the sword here meaning that there is more than one problem here to lump it all on to PJs shoulders is wrong theres an upper level problem here Ive said it before this is potetially the richest Leauge in the world when you consider the payments for promotion so why on earth does ME not open the wallet or even max out on the bank loans and get the players we need money talks and BS walks in this game ...what are the aperations of our owner thats what the real question is here and yes is PJ the man right now to be Manager of a club that will not fund him ...I dont beleive theres a manger out there that would touch this job having to deal with what PJ has had to deal with and then the last four games are down now to the players to save PJs job will they do that for him or is this there time to say no we want a different gaffer Im not hear to say what is right but please dont lump it all on one man thats really not fair hes done the very best he can with what his been givin...if he resigns or stays to the end I will have a lot of respect for him but I know history will forgo the fairness and say he was rubbish but in real terms he is a victum of the clubs ideology right now what if Mick Mc Carthy or Harry Redknap comes in do you believe that they would even consider a role here with the obviuos non ambition to progress the club finnacially ie to make the Prem alas I feel that it is now too late save a miricle of the team not shipping goals and gaining three point the next 4 matches that will save PJ but at least look at it from both sides. |

Funny thing about watching football is that its very different to actually playing in the game for starters when your in the Stand you can probably see who is where on the pitch at all times and think why on earth didn't he pass it or do that etc...
then theres the actual fitness that's involved running turning focusing on what's happening in the game…
a lot of people forget that the team tactics of movement on the pitch is extremely strict for example when one player moves up the pitch the player behind has to take up a certain position behind and he must remember exactly what his job is in a lot of different senario and in training and in player briefing theres a lot of information about opposing players that as a player you must digest and remember….just watch when a sub comes on the manger is giving him short hand commands to pass to the team that they must all understand…no it not rocket science but at this level the boys have to use there grey matter as well.
its not a simple as it looks !!
then there's changes in formations and or substitutions that they have to remember what there role is when this happens add on top of that performing in front of a tense crowd and then there's the back room politics that goes on i.e. slugging your guts out for very little appreciation from the Gaffer players slaggin you off if you done something wrong grrrr etc…
its not all about money but as a professional footballer you want to be the best you can and egos do come into it which is exactly why people like that do well in sport you have to have one!!!
that is all in the days work of a pro footballer…
.so yes I think Chops is probably right that we don't know football the way a pro does
but he has to understand and I'm sure he does that with the limited knowledge we do have and the passion for success we want there's going to be some questions asked (quite rightly ) that need to be answered I don't think he needs Media training to know this but we are all intitled to let of steam both player and fan …its healthy and I think it can be a dangerous thing tweeting when you get a rush of blood to the head but is great for us fans to feel like we can talk to our team...

wel if you look at the game chops hit the post and there were some good chances it wont be long before they are converted to goals keep the faith this is just when your tema needs your support right at the low point it will turn around that I am convinced of sacking the manger is not the answer we will turn the corner 4 games and we will be back in the fight the points between 1st and last isnt such a great difference right now if after the next four games we are not doing it then i think yes a change of stratigy is required i dont want to see pj go thats for sure he is a decent manager and if you beleive his not good enough or his will isnt strong on both accounts i think you would be wrong 4 games and lets see what happens give the boys our support dont run out on them now we are ITFC till we die and that is part and parcel fo supporting your team rmember the allamo!!!! some Dunkirk spirit is needed now ...COYB!!!! |

Well I think the lads played well enough to win the game against Boro but sadly couldnt find the net...the team looks sharp and the players are hungry...Mogga is right we have nothing to worry about at this point in the season ...however I will say that obviously this trend can not continue and I really beleive it will not we really do need to be confident and I would urge supporters to be patient our time is about to come I would say in the next 5 or so games we should see a huge improvemnt in out position as well as our goal tallys ...PJ is a creative manger but the season hasnt yet kicked off for us as yet be pateint 5 more games and I believe you will all be singing Flying high.....COYB!!! |

oh dear how sad never mind...Well done to PJ for attracting the talent but seriously we dont know the ins and outs just yet spare the whip just for now...
We are in fact in the most lucartive division in the world if we are seriouse about a 90 Million pound promotion to the Premier Leauge spend the money get the very best for your buck but get the players in
PJ youve be a man marvel getting the talent to this point but you really must put your foot down right now Clegg or whoever must never be involved in this process if it is this that is causing our demise
my feelings are that if we do not progress to the playoffs at the very least this season PR is going to be just a distant memory in peoples minds....and no one wants this this is a turning point not because of these two particular players , if finacaily strapped Bristol City can take players way from us then you really do need to hold a seriouse board meeting and discuss where the issue lies....this is infact the most serious issue facing our club the line must be drawn and PJ now is the time to be paitent no longer you have to say and do something...Marcus needs to really think about this increase the wage bill increase the player budget and my friends you will have a team second to none get the scouts out abroad South America etc...do whatever it takes spend 50 Million and reap the 90 Million+++ from the promotion playoffs and Premier leauge this is the time to Man up Marcus ....Better to live One Day as a Tiger than a thousand years as a worm ....think about it who dares will win this one NOW IS THE TIME!!! |

Well disapointed we lost last night we looked by far the better team for most of the game ahh well lets move forward and PJ is a good manager his trying his best to get in the players he needs and if anything you cant hold a good man down well not for long I beleive that weve got to hold our nerve and Im sure on Sataurday we will get a good result at home with the addition of these three great players I have every confidence that PJ will pull this around along with the players....COYB |
