Premier League Clubs Eyeing Davis
at 14:35:02

If we do not go up this season i can see him going, and for that money, whilst i dont want him to go, you cant really turn it down.

The same could be true of Mckenna if we dont go up, that loss would be huge and hopefully i am wrong.

Not to add to the pressure but we really do need to go up this season, by rights you could say enjoy where we are because we were in league 1 last season and for the most part we do still have a squad that is running at peak and does need improving, there are of course a few stand outs. If we dont go up though i can see Mckenna getting poached and of course players like Leif, who if Mckenna does go i think will effect a lot of players because he is the glue.

Whatever the case already this season has been amazing, i would have taken anything in the top 10 before season started just being realistic, so im happy i just dont want to loose the best people, backroom and player wise.

Blue Action to Stage Derby Coach Welcome
at 11:47:41

I echo RegencyBlue, both arguments are valid.

I would say though, lets all calm down and accept different opinions on this, the last thing we need to be doing is going at each other. All things considered this IS a MASSIVE game, its a Derby we have not had in a long time and it does deserve attention and for us to hopefully enjoy the whole occasion as winners.

Whilst i do not agree with Europablue, to question whether he should support ITFC is a bit much, he is allowed an opinion, again one i dont share but each there own.

I like the idea of this but nerves are big for me and i would hate for this to be extra fuel for them to get a scalp, as with any Derby form is out of the window, and whilst we are a far better side sometimes that just doesnt mean much. I am confident we beat them 9 times out of 10 though and i am on board for sure with anything that boosts atmosphere and highlights us as a club, because this club is just brilliant.

Tuanzebe Still in Suffolk as Town Talks Continue
at 09:28:52

Everyone seems to be an expert on what players are earning per week, lets be honest no one on here knows anything about what wages they are on, the only people that know that are the backroom staff and the players themselves.

As for him not going to Luton, why are we assuming that Axel ever wanted to play for them? Yes they are in the prem, and if a prem team enquires why wouldnt you see what they have got to say, but when it comes down to it Luton may well have offered him a lot of money, doesnt mean after looking at the club, that he wants to play for them. No disrespect to Luton but i cant see anything other than them propping up the league this year, they will come down and who knows might go down again. They are in the prem on merit as you fdont get there without getting the points and results but when you see how much work they need to do to the stadium, and also playing squad, then i am not suprised not many players are scrambling to join them. This does sound harsh i appreciate that but if you have played for the team Axel has, knowing that if you can get fit you will have options then it isnt hard to see why he himself may not have wanted to go to Luton. Just a thought, but it is not always to do with money, if that was the case he would have gone to Saudi, but at least it seems on face value he wants to stay in the UK to play a very good standard of football and that refreshing to see if true to be honest.

If anyone can get someone on board it would be some one like Mckenna for one, and for two they have previously worked together so they know what each other are about, and if Mckenna thinks this time is worth spending to see if we can get him in based on his fitness and stuff, then i trust that and hope for the best. If it happens and it fails thats also fine, these things happen, but ultimately the people with the most knowledge are the ones that will get these things done, not all of us on here that make assumptions based on nothing more that hear say.

Sorry i dont want this to be a dig, not my intention really, i just get frustrated with assumption and opinions that display themselves as fact when they are anything but fact

Town Working on Scarlett Loan Signing
at 11:57:27

I agree that we need a striker and defensive cover, but i also seem to see some panic, or whatever you want to call it, over lack of info on recruitment in defence especially after Leeds.

Leeds to me was an off day for the team, Clarke for one was way of his normal standard and kept getting caught out, he was not keeping an eye behind him especially first half, second half he was better.

Luongo also had an off day, and to be clear these two are not the only ones just the ones i noticed the most.

Hladky i am afraid i have never really rated and he always makes me uncomfortable when he plays. He does not command like Walton, and the defence in front looks more shaky as a result. Yes he made some good saves in the games leading up to Leeds, but he just isnt any where near Walton standard in my opinion. He made two blunders for two goals in my eyes, and again im not saying the rest of the team showered themselves in glory in relation to the goals but he just isnt quite good enough at this level in my opinion.

I really feel like the team were just tired and a bit lazy on that game, couldnt string passes a lot of the time, Clarke was not ready for that level of game either after his injury. I feel like had we have turned up as we know we can and if we had Walton in goal i dont think we loose that game.

The point i am making with all of this though is one result should not result in the panic button being pushed, the games will be harder this year, better league better teams. We take the learnings and move on, it doesnt mean we have to suddenly panic and recruit for the sake of recruiting

Plymouth Back On Top as Pilgrims and Barnsley Win
at 14:17:47

There is not a team in this league we cant beat and although the table tells a different story i dont think any team in this league is actually better than us.

We are were we are in the league right now because of our own arrogance and inconsistent nature at time this season. Some of this, or most, is down to the whole sale changes to the team and those new players finding their place in the team over the course of the season at different stages. But too many times we have played too slow and not come out of the blocks until it really matters, i guess thankfully over the last 7 games and hopefully going forward that seems to be changing.

We are getting at teams quickly and staying composed, i feel like we are really going for it at the minute and i can definitely feel a change in the way we are playing, i feel confident in us again in the sense that we are not going to be slow, cumbersome or passing side ways or back all of the time.

We are and have always been this season a very good side, things have taken time to click but where we are as a club is light years further forward than the marcus evans era where the cancer just grew and got worse.

Recent highlights that have obviously had an impact are injuries but thankfully they are coming back slowly, but on the positive Massimo Luongo, what a breath of fresh air. Leaves everything on the pitch and battles for every ball he is near. What ever happens from now his impact has and will be significant.

I am trying to stay level headed on where we will finish and i of course hope it will be one of the top two spots, i dont trust the play offs, but i have confidence in this team and i really do think we are the best in the league but we currently suffer the problems we have caused for ourselves and also in one or two games poor decisions by the ref.

My biggest gripe is Plymouth though, i really dont think they are that good, they have had a couple of good loans, but the amount of worldy goals they have scored and deflected goals is unreal. If they go up i really dont think they stay in the championship to be honest, i could be wrong on that and if so fine but they have had such a rub of the green for a lot of the season. It has not all been luck of course and ultimately if you are up there you deserve to be but i really feel luck has favoured them this season.

Plymouth Argyle 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 13:47:59

Some of the comments on here amaze me, one loss and all of a sudden we are not the team we thought we were etc etc

Yes we were beaten, and the way we let them win it, and i do mean let them, is the difference. I think we were just not at the races like we usually are, internationals and injuries dont help but they should never be the excuse as thats why you have a squad.

I do think though this team is going places and will and are improving, the passion they have is evident, backed by a manager that seems to be keeping them hungry and maybe this is the wake up call needed. I am as gutted as the next fan and for me we must beat Portsmouth as it would be criminal not to take 3 points off of one of the top teams we have played in the last three. I would have been happy with 5 from weds, plymouth and portsmouth before this, now we have to take 3 no excuses. But this situation does not make us a bad team and one that has been found out, we have our problems such as a striker that can score, however i think Ladapo will start soon, as in not just a lucky goal, that player is doing a lot of good work but not putting it in the net, and i get it for a 9 you need to but the foundations are there.

I agree with some that in hindsight the subs were an issue for this game, i personally think Ball would have offered a lot in the game in the second half, Morsy and Evans for all the good work they do needed to hold back because of cards and some dodgy fouls on their part. Ball i think is a great box to box and also has goals in his locker, i also agree Jackson should not have been the striker late on especially as he was offering some threat down the channel and getting balls across.

But despite all the above we move on, we play Portsmouth, and we need to win it, but we are still a good team and will get better. This if nothing else is a great learning experience for everyone in the levels required to see out a game and to humble yourselves because as soon as you get too big fore your boots and believe the hype too much you will get punished. We know we are good and rightly so but there are ways of handling that situation, and i dont think we are too big headed but this game if any reinforces that as i think some of our other performances earlier in the season would have seen Plymouth off.

Our game didnt flow like it normally does and also some of our defending was pretty shocking to be fair as well, some of the openings they were allowed was just criminal, but this is football and these things happen.

These last couple of games does not define us or our season, the end does however so until then we need to support

McKenna Nominated For Manager of the Month
at 14:47:13

Got to stop worrying about curses and the like, at the end of the day he deserves it, we have done so well so far, we should not have drawn with Barnsley and therefore that only leaves Bolton, first game its fine just dont loose and we havent.

I am fed up of always having to say oh no we are going to be on telly and be rubbish, and oh no manager of the month now we are going to go down hill. If it is one thing i take from the now owners and our manager, its that the half ar*** way things have been done before and all of the old way of doing things and the thinking around it stops, we do things properly, and the fans need something to get behind and they have it, and are showing the backing too more than ever.

Its taken so long but its about time we all had something to be enjoying with our football club, so i for one will not be believing in silly superstitions and am enjoying the ride because its about time we had this and long may it continue because right now its well deserved.

I dont want this to come across as me having a go, thinking this way is easy i know because i have been there too, but for this great club to flourish again actions and mindsets need to change, the actions are there, and the player mindsets are too it seems, now just for the fans. Positivity all the way.

Huddersfield and Boro Linked With Simpson

I have no interest in any player that doesnt want to play for the badge, see you later as far as i am concerned.

Its disappointing for him to have acted the way he has for a club that has got him to where he is and being chased by other clubs with a good rep, but devils advocate none of us other than the club and Simpson really know whats gone on behind the scenes.

Roberts Joins Cook at Chesterfield
at 15:36:07

Len_Brennan

Apologise but i actually think you also have it wrong to be honest. The squad we had were given a chance by Cook and yes no improvement made but i would argue that is as much down to the players as it was anything that Paul Cook was doing.

Colchester is a case in point they seem to have most of our throw aways and are hardly ripping it up in league 2.

I still cant see why so much faith was put in Chambers and company, sorry to say it but most were not good enough or simply were not playing for the badge. Look how easy downes head got turned and his form dipped because of it. He isnt the only player to ever have that happen and i am not against moving to bigger clubs for more money, but i do take offence to not giving your all for the club that has helped you become the player you are, and that goes for most that were let go frankly.

This group of players is far superior and yes some of that is down to McKenna for coaching them correctly, or differently, however you want to put it, and yes some of the older heads have been galvanised but there are many factors to their form now and then and its not just on cooks head for that.

The players of old and those from previous still with us need to look in the mirror and really ask themselves if they really have given everything over those tougher periods, because i would say they didnt personally.

Cook had his faults, they are plain for all to see as did other managers who have been and gone, but people are quick to dismiss the good that Paul Cook actually did and one part of that is the playing squad frankly. The start of the season has ruined it for us as without that we would be 3rd or 4th i am sure, but i would rather the clear out that happened and the squad we have now being coached by what seems a very good manager, then just stick with what we had who didnt seem to care about the club to be honest. I am optimistic that this squad and the management team can do the business next year auto or playoffs because out form since McKenna has been promotion form, its just too late in the day and the start hasnt helped.

McKenna: Definitely Not Our Best Performance
at 09:58:47

I actually can not believe some of the comments, we really can be a hard fan base to please.

First and foremost we got the three points, and that is with not playing well which in itself is what teams must do if they want any hope of promotion. We all know we have the quality in the squad to win pretty but the fact that we can now also win ugly is only a good sign.

I think people forget that we now seem to have a manager that is able to actually manage a game and continue to play the same tactic that isnt working in the hope something comes off.

I like Cook overall and wished it had of worked out for him, but alas his stubbornness was his downfall, but i could see what he was trying to do and he brought in some good players. But in McKenna we seem to have someone that knows whats needed and will make changes to try and give us the edge, and also the players seem to be playing for him.

We are heading in the right direction, and we all just need to start being optimistic rather than moan because we played poorly. We still got the win we have won 5 in 7 games and we are closing the gap, we are called SUPPORTERS, so lets start supporting.

Schwartz: The Opportunity at Town Was Too Good to Pass Up
at 15:47:41

I hear people worrying about the return on investment line but i think most people know that football is a business these days and no one goes into it prepared to throw everything down and dont mind coming out of it without anything left, that will just never happen.

Plus in fairness to the new owners in just one transfer window, i think i am confident enough to say that most fans expectations were exceeded, they have already proven they will put the money in to improve us as a club. Not forgetting the new pitch next year and a big screen in the corner of the stand which is something that should have been done long ago as it is wasted space, and it would look good.

Until we start hearing that there is not money to make additions i myself am not going to worry, in the short time they have owned us they have already proven to me they care and want to improve us and get us up where we all want to be. We have some knowledgeable people leading us now, i feel like we are in good hands personally.

Cook: Walton Adds Winning Mentality
at 15:03:57

If anyone thought that after making 19 signings things were just going to happen then i think expectations were too high.

I will say however that just based on pure luck with the squad we have assembled i would have though we would have won at least 1 game.

I do think what most are forgetting though is aside from signing 19 players we also have the human aspect of it were most have had to relocate themselves and any family they may have, they wont have a house from the off so are probably living out of hotels this all plays a part in bedding in football aside and i think they could be forgiven for taking a while to settle.

I dont think any one who is a fan of ITFC or knows anything about football / current players could complain about the squad we now have, save for maybe 1 or 2 more defensive minded players. Not only that but despite not having a win yet the football we are playing is far better to watch and i feel like we have scored more goals in these few games than we did all of last season.

My honest opinion for our issues in shipping two goals a game is due to Hladcky in my opinion, now i dont actually think he is a bad keeper, you dont have his record and win the golden gloves for nothing, however he has made two steps up, in front of probably the biggest crowd he has played in front of in regards to a team he plays for, and the weight of expectation to perform. I think Walton will prove to be a key loan for that reason and that also give Hladcky the time to settle and build his confidence back up, play a few blinders in the cup games we have left and he will be back in the team i am sure.

Also not to place the burden firmly at the keepers door it has to be said that some of the mistakes being made by those at the back or just in front are quite criminal but again most of these players have not played together and there is a lot expected of them, but on that they are pro footballers and in any team those mistakes should not happen, they should know better.

Woolfenden needs to be marshalled and led Burgess could be that guy, but i think it will be Burgess and Edmundson taking the cb spots and im looking forward to that because between Nsiala and Woolfenden it feels too panicky and they have a mistake a game in them which doers not breed confidence, and i should imagine has not helped Hladcky. And yes i know toto got injured early but i have seen enough of him since he joined us to have that opinion.

I have a good feeling about tomorrow, i hope i have not jinxed it, but this team excites me.

Last thing too i dont get why people get on Cooks back so fast, are people forgetting the mess and shambles that our beloved club had become under Evans, i think its plain to see how much rot had set in and it isnt just assembling the team, its backroom staff of which we actually seem to have now, and also the feel of the place. For example in my opinion how can you not have working card machines when buying something to eat or drink, the absolute minimum was spent by Evans and over time we rotted, well that ends now. Cook has a good cv and again he has brought these players in, well requested i am sure, Ashton has already proven his worth, but i think Cook deserves more than what he is getting at the minute considering what was inherited.

And to be clear i dont want to hear anything about last season, in my eyes it doesnt count, every player had multiple chances, it was all nicey nicey, that didnt work so they got aired out, that also did not work so bye bye. I dont feel like any of the departed cared about playing for us, i feel like they were just picking up their nice wages and just crusing knowing they have it easy. When you consider Bonne who is only on loan right no leaves everything on the pitch, is scoring and kissed the badge, thats what i want to see, passion and pride for playing for the brillinat club and the club we all love.

Owner Evans on Cook, Lambert and Takeover Talk
at 11:52:50

How quickly mindsets change, i have seen some on here say how Evans still has the best at heart for the club and that this was a good address etc etc.

You dont even need to have a short term memory problem to highlight the issues that have arisen with Evans at the helm.

We are in league 1 and a lot of that is to do with Evans and until he has gone i dont see how we move forward without him accidentally getting it right, that might well be the case with Paul Cook, and for the record i am happy with the appointment, but people seem to quickly forget all the scenarios that have put us in this position.

We have no devine right to be anywhere just based on history, but we are where we are because we deserve to be there based on decisions made, too much money given to the wrong managers, not strengthen the squad to get us over the line and push on when we needed it or when we get rid of out top striker and not replace him, im sure names dont need to be given.

When you allow the sale of most of the best players at the club and replace them with L1 or L2 players and wonder why we end up in the same league we got those players from.

It may have turned sour with McCarthy at the end but if that man had the funds made available to him and replaced players we sold that clearly need replacing then i think we have already been in the prem if not regularly challenging up there. I will say i dont regret us getting rid but that time is a prime example of our owner Evans not using funds when it is needed but allowing players like lee martin and the like to be bought for silly money.

The manager is at fault too because as an owner you have to trus the man in charge as they are supposed to be the clued up people, but even sales like wickham, roahdes, cresswell, mings, where did all that money go because it certainly wasnt put back into the playing squad.

Im sorry but i for one dont see progress until Evans is gone, we know exactly the direction we go with him in charge because all he has achieved in the 13 years is us being in the lowest position we have been for many many years. Whilst new investors may not be long term and of course the situation can get worse but we have been going slowly backwards under Evans, why are we happy with that all of a sudden.

Lambert Facing Dressing Room Unrest - Report
at 09:29:26

I dont like hearing that the players are not good enough because i whole heartedly disagree with that.

I honestly we think e do have a capable squad, the issue is there is so much rot in the core of the club that everyone is just fed up with the situation, the passion is just not there from those running the club to playing, and the buck stops with Evans.

Since he has taken ownership we have been on a steady decline, save for a play off season, but even then issues were obvious, the reliance on a certain player for example.

We also never seem to have a plan B or the willingness to change plan A knowing that for the most part it is not working. Add to this that the amount of injuries we get is outrageous, players constantly injured during training and whilst playing, there really is something not right with that. Whether it be the training facilities, over training, under training or the staff conducting the sessions but this has been a problem with many managements not just this one. Didz is a prime example, injured constantly for us, leaves and plays the most football he has for a while.

Id say there is some basis for these rumours because we dont play to our strengths, that is in part to injuries but even when we are in a good place, all be it not very often, we dont change a system that doest work.

This club will never change and improve whilst Evans owns it and that is the sad truth of it all, how many mistakes do you have to make before you finally learn, but i have seen no evidence he has learned from any of them.

Five Point Protest Aims to Focus Frustrations
at 12:18:00

I think the thought process around this is solid, and i appreciate it is not being sold as some boycott everything to be heard as i think it causes further damage.

Also why does he need to be of a certain age to know what we have accomplished as a football club over the years in order to take action against the rot that has set in at our club? Did you need to be around during Sir Bobby in order to have any say in whats happening at the club? Rubbish comment, at least he is standing up to it and trying to take action in the right way.

Also i dont agree with some view points that we need to boycott games and just not turn up. Last i looked the club was in some serious, very serious, debt. But stopping the cash flow to the club with tickets, how is that going to have any positive impact?

I say fight the good fight and i hope you achieve what we all want, and that is positive change and done in the right way, im backing you all the way.

Ex-Blues Boss Hurst Sacked By Scunthorpe

The majority probably laughing at this and saying he is rubbish etc are probably the same ones that were happy we were getting what seemed like an upcoming manager that could get the best out of a squad.

Im not going to laugh and say I am happy about this, as its just nasty to be honest, I am however happy that he is no where near or involved with our club after what he did in the short time he was here.

Maybe a few should consider showing a little class from time to time.

Bishop: We Didn't Deserve to Lose on Second-Half Display
at 12:17:01

I do not care if any one thinks we deserved to win, you only win by getting the job done and scoring more than the other team.

I look at our squad and I can not fathom how we are not doing better than we are, we had an edge about us at the start of the season and got right to the top, and maintained it for a time. There is no excuse for how we are now playing, rotation policy or not.

I mean no disrespect to other teams in this league, and nothing is won on paper but that group of players is so much more capable than what is currently being shown.

This isn't also a new thing, but how long has it been where we have one good half and one either bad or average, and also when we concede we start playing and attacking with more intent! Im sorry I want that drive and passion from the first whistle and I will not settle for less because we are a good team and have some good players, so pull your bloody socks up and stop feeling sorry for yourselves because you feel like you should have won rather than actually winning.

My issue at the moment is it feels like we are reverting to type like last season, and I don't blame rotation policy for this. I agree maybe rotation has gone on a bit too long but the long game plan was a solid one, have most if not all your squad match fit and we can then handle injuries etc.

I honestly think there is more going on behind the scenes than any one knows about, how do you go from how we were playing at the start of the season to this?! Your not telling me its because Norwood and Vincent young needed to be out for ops because if a team cant handle that situation regardless of the influence they bring to the team then we are more powder puff then I ever suspected.

I love this club and always will, I will stick with it through good and bad, but this we deserved more has to stop, go for it from the first whistle and accept nothing other than success, don't wait until we are already behind. Stand up and be bloody counted, so some passion and desire and play to your ability, we deserve nothing, we earn everything.

Donacien: Cup Rotation Has Benefited Me
at 10:01:20

Whilst this was one of Donaciens better games, I still would not say he was that good and has glaringly obvious problems when playing.

Maybe Lambert see's him more of a CB than a RB because he spends most of his time drifting into the middle with the CB's.

There was several times in that game where he had gone more central whilst blackpool were running down his side leaving so much space, they had time to read a bloody novel before they made the cross's into our box.

I don't want to be completely negative about him as I said, as one of his better games but I don't trust him still and there is plenty for him to work on.

Also, and this isn't pointed only at Donacien, but it never felt like we got out of second gear, when blackpool broke players would just be lightly jogging back, I want to see just as much commitment getting back to stop the through balls and crosses as I do going forward.

I honestly just felt that this was a game we could have won but it felt like the players felt as if we didn't need to try our hardest to do it.
