And before any of you clever clogs make any quips, yes I do have a wife. She's not much of a looker and not very exciting but she's very reliable. She's not very entertaining in the bedroom either; perhaps one good performance every year or so. But life isn't about having fun and taking risks is it.

At least grumpyoldman gets me.
Swn98 was very happy the other night after our cup exit. I think that he believed that it proved him right and proved that we should never have gotten rid of his beloved Mick. If you read back through his posts you will see that.
Those with a little more faith in our club are prepared to wait a bit longer than just 3 games and give the new manager and his team a proper chance to prove themselves.
Yesterdays performance shows that we are definitely on the right track and people like Swn98 should get on board with everybody else and look to future and be positive.

There's a chance. In fact it's probably not a bad bet. McCarthy will set us up to stop them playing and stifle the game, as he always does. Then, if his plan works, there is always the chance that we will nick one, from a set piece or a fortunate breakaway. Nobody (home or away) will enjoy the game and nobody will leave the game feeling as though they were entertained. But none of that matters, because all that really matters is the result. Apparently?
I will have a small bet on us to win 1-0. It's the only way I can force myself to pay attention anymore. |
