| Forum Reply | Unpopular opinion: I wouldn’t have Sarmiento back next season at 15:36 8 May 2024
The advantages seem to be that we could get it done really early (already agreed as an option according to some reports) and could therefore get him in for the full pre-season. He's also a totally known quantity so no concerns that he might not fit or might disrupt the squad. Thought he improved a lot after our 2 week break before the Hull game and this was the first solid training block he'd had with the squad since he joined. |

The Planning Applications for some of this stuff are going to have to go in soon. Likely to be an 8 week turnaround for the applications to be approved doesn't leave long to get some of it done. |

We signed 7 in the last summer window: Hirst, Taylor, Scarlett, Slicker, Williams, Tuanzebe, Hutchinson. We've got quite a few out of contract and some like Baggott, Humphreys, Slicker are likely to go out on loan to get more first team football. Signing 8 or 9 isn't necessarily as disruptive as it seems. |
| Forum Reply | Use of the expression “worth a punt.” at 13:31 7 May 2024
I think when people talk about 'taking a punt' they are often really talking about calculated risk and we've done some of that. There are quite a few different categories of this including: Player who has 'done it at lower levels' but might not make the step up or continue to develop - e.g Ahadme, Al-Hamadi are examples of these. Player with injury history who might be coming out of that - e.g Luongo Player with 'issues' who we might be able to get back focussed fully on football - e.g Williams. Player who has stagnated who we might get going again |
| Forum Reply | Away points in the prem at 13:13 7 May 2024
I think there's a reasonable chance that there'll be a ballot for some of the away allocation. Looking at membership schemes for Prem clubs this seems to be reasonably common. If people know they'd get a minimum of X number of games via a ballot per season it would encourage lots more membership sign ups for those who don't have the points for whatever reason. |

The media requirements for the Prem are really significant and the current press gantry may not meet this. This would impact fewer current season ticket holders than moving the away fans but might have to happen if a new press location is needed. |

He's currently the president of the organisation that runs the 3rd tier of US football. LIke you say a hard working decent bloke who was set up for failure by the organisation he was working for. |

He had an operation 2 weeks ago and didn't look like he was walking too well at Cov so imagine that's highly unlikely |

Many Premier league clubs have a % of tickets (for some clubs home and away) that go to ballot and you have to be a member to be in the ballot. It wouldn't surprise me if we went down this route to encourage more membership sign ups. |
