Town Move for Barnett
at 11:55:15

Another one right out of the blue! Personally I would have liked to have seen a defender come through the revolving door next but I will give Tyrone the benfit of the doubt till I have seen him play.

After Saturday I did wonder how many more games Henderson & Murphy would get in a Town shirt again under MM. I imagine one or both might get sent back this week unless there are clauses where we cant. I do also wonder where this leaves Chopra & Scotland now though? They both seem to be going further & further down the pecking order!

Heres hoping Tyrone comes in and starts banging a few in, I know the defence is leaking goals at the minute but our strikers are not exactly firing on all cylinders either so fingers crossed Tyrone & DJ can link up well and score a few much needed goals between them. COYB

Delight at Joining Town Makes Up for Blackburn Disappointment
at 09:39:46

I really hope it works out for Bradley, he seems a true gent and after hearing yesterday about his off the field charity work-he is exactly the sort of player I want at the club, he just needs to back it up on the pitch and we could have our problematic right back position finally sorted!

Town Confirm Orr Loan
at 12:24:16

Wow, the signings are coming thick & fast at the minute! Great to finally see a recognised right back come into the club.

The back four is starting to look quite solid on paper now and I always think the best managers build from the back, keep up the good work MM.

Ex-Charlton Man Joins Town
at 11:39:09

Brought in as cover for Cresswell and nothing more, hasnt played any consecutive games in nearly 2 years as he has been blighted by knee injuries.

Still, it its good to have cover for Cresswell and he is a decent age-plus he was first choice left back for Charlton before his knee injuries so is worth a short term contract, if it doesnt work then we can let him go in January.

Bullard Set for Exit
at 16:06:53

First off, am happy to hold my hands up and say I was one of the many, many fans who wanted to sign JB after his terrific load spell. I was hoping like others that Jimmy might come good this season, I guess now we will never know.

It does seem that he might be a bit of a bad apple though from everything I have read, he fell out with Hull, Fulham couldnt wait to get shot and now it looks like we are doing the same. With the whole Chopra incident last season and his wages, if we can offload him then it probably would be best all round.

Use the money else where, it might allow us to bring in a loan signing and possibly sign Davies so I think a good move by Jewell and the club.

Thanks for the loan spell Jimmy, especially that goal away to Cardiff-absolute cracker!

Bullard "Out of Equation"
at 13:37:48

Whats sickening is that if he is on £15,000 a week then that works out at £780,000 for the remaining year of his contract, that would probably be enough to sign Davies.

Like everyone else though, I wanted Bullard here after his excellent loan spell but for what ever reason it just hasnt worked out for everyone involved. Would be nice to see him involved this season and for him to repay the club a little, sounds like Jimmy just needs to get his head down, work hard and take a first team opportunity with both hands when it comes his way.

Hutchings: Lots to Be Pleased About in West Ham Performance
at 13:02:49

Just logged on, this is a thread about Saturdays game isnt it? Just so I dont post on the wrong one!

Anyways.....I went Saturday and I was quite pessimistic before the game if im honest, but the lads did brilliantly and I agree with Tommy Smith, you really wouldnt have known who the Premier League team was.

I know it was only a friendly but the passing was slick, the team looked fairly well balanced, other than maybe Carson not offering much down the left first half, the team played very well first half-Luongo, Chambers, Jet & Martin impressing for me. Thought Loach did well, apart from being out of position for the goal conceeded. When West Ham did get in a few crosses though I thought we looked a little bit suspect but bodies were being thrown in the way which was very good to see. Lee Martin had a little kick out at one of the West Ham defenders which went unseen by the ref, he really needs to cut that out of his game but apart from that it was an awesome run out for the lads and if the team that lined up in the first half lines up against Blackburn then I reckon we will certainly give them a very good game. Davies Could Stay at Derby Until January
at 09:48:16

I said I thought this would be the case on the Davies thread yesterday, cant say I am surprised. We really dont have any money to spend-its a sad, sad state of affairs for this great club, time to sell up Mr Evans and hand the reigns over to someone who is going to take this club forward.

Bristol City Not After Davies
at 15:07:48

I reckon this one might run into January if im honest, maybe Jewell will get in a loan signing for half a season and then renew is interest in Davies in January when Derby will literally be giving him away. Cant see this happening till then if im honest, just being realistic!

Coppinger Linked Again
at 15:05:19

Would certainly bring experience to what is quite a young midfield (Bullard being the exception). Good set piece taker from all accounts but would personally prefer a younger option to Coppinger, with money being tight though I am guessing a move for Coppinger might fall in with our limited budget so I reckon there might be something in this!

Jewell: We're Nowhere Near Good Enough At the Moment
at 10:35:44

With no money to spend, its hard to see where the re-inforcements are going to come from, where has the money gone? Wages?, FFP?, im guessing that Evans is just tightning the purse strings yet again and if he is then Jewell will do well to still be here come the end of the season. We havent had a story about how well Jewell and Evans are getting on lately, is Evans maybe giving Jewell 10 games to prove his worth hence why the lack of transfers and money available, I remember the same thing happening to Keane in his second season in charge and I do fear the same happening to Jewell.

As for the Southend game, poor result but I would much rather we have these types of problems in pre-season so we can iron them out in training and the remaining pre-season games so they do not happen when the real season starts. I still think we have the makings of a decent team, if we can get Lee Martin to sign his new contract and add a couple more players to the squad then I dont see why we cant have a half decent season. I just hope Evans backs Jewell otherwise its going to be another season of upheaval and a season wasted!

Tottenham Midfielder Luongo Set for Town Loan
at 09:55:11

Sounds promising, and I have no problem with it being a loan deal. Everyone has to realise that our midfield is not blessed with creativity that apparently this lad has, only Bullard can really spot that pass when he is on top form and after last seasons dip in form and Jewell openly saying that Bullard would not play every game, plus add it likely injuries, a busy Christmas period as always and you need a good squad of players.

Not mouthwatering on paper no, lets judge the lad once we have all seen him though-maybe he will win a few of you doubters over, especially as over the last few seasons-two loan signings have won our player of the season award-Colback & Bullard anyone!

Blues in Heskey Talks
at 15:13:43

Assists arent everything, his hold up play, bringing others in and being a foil for Chopra and the rest of the team are what he will bring to the team.

Stats can be manipulated to agree with anyones point of view if needs be!

Maguire from Sheff Utd, Halford from Portsmouth or Wordsworth from Col Utd would be very welcome.

Good money is still on Kourouma though.

Rules out Heskey, Davies & Baldock then.

Maybe Kourouma has got through all his red tape and can now officially sign?

From the way the article reads to me though, it seems the un-named player is currently with a club so that would rule Kourouma out.

I would still like to see another centre half come in or a midfielder that can play across the midfield-Alan Judge springs to mind, that rumour appears to have all but disappeared though! Good to see the club really kicking into gear with the transfers now though, UTT

Blues in Heskey Talks
at 13:26:13

I was a bit unsure about this when I first heard about this possible signing, having thought about it, if we can get Heskey in on a one year deal maybe with an option of a second year then it would be a risk worth taking.

I remeber Michael Owen & Rooney both saying he was the best strike partner they have ever played with as he is a good foil and does a lot of work that goes un-noticed. And I also remeber reading an article with John Terry that said he is horrible to defend against as he alwas puts himself about and is very hard to man mark.

Apparentely he keeps himself super fit as well so I cant see that being an issue, think the only thing puting people off that I can see is his scoring record but if you know anything about football then you would know that if you buy/sign Emile Heskey you are signing him to be a foil for another striker not an out and out goal scorer.

Think Heskey and Chopra could do very well at this level, think I am going to side with the 'sign him up' brigade on this one!
