Lambert: Deals for Proven Loan Targets Too Rich For Us
at 17:21:02

Lol all better than what we have. You might be right but how many of them have you seen play?

The level of debt in ITFC is a red herring. If ME invests more the debt will go up, the club will owe him more, unless you are saying he should gift it. That is what he says he will do when he sells up anyway so the level of debt is irrelevant.

We all want a quick fix, FFP I think stops it, so does ME's desire to work to a budget

Prebbs. So you do know then, Saxon has already tried to tell you, he is not gaining.

Even if he is offsetting tax in his other companies, you cant do it unless you lose the money in the first place. Even then you only get 20% back, and even then if they are doing it by the book he is repaying the saved tax back to ITFC.

Now I don't know they are doing it right, but I want to believe they are.

Everybody is always going to want the owner to do more, no matter what club you follow, but to say he is gaining financially from the club is just plain inaccurate.

Still waiting for you to identify the loan players loaned to other clubs that you want at ITFC...….

Prebbs, I say this with absolutely no research whatsoever on my part, but how many of those loan players that you mention, would you like to see in an Ipswich shirt?

And beornioblue, I really badly want to see us smash them tomorrow, but must win it is not. Must win with no context as you state implies that if we do not win, we cannot achieve our goals for this season. Must win if we want to be back in the top two tomorrow night, yes, but can we still get promotion if we don't win tomorrow? If we win every game until the end of the season apart from tomorrow, how many points will we win the league by?

Lambert: I Know There are People Who Want Us to Fail
at 16:31:31

No it shouldn't have been, but maybe it wasn't just his fault that it went that way!

Looking for sensation when there is none, it would have peed me off too.

Let's hope this is the start of a new run eh? A run that will carry us all the way back to the championship

You have answered it yourself dissboy. I dont think he thinks it is outsiders, I think it's aimed at the local press. Look at the article the last 2 paragraphs for me are most important , that and the question about Evans wanting the team to play football.

At the Rotherham game there were people around me booing at the half time whistle. We had just lost our first league game, we might even still have been top before the game. Why boo? Why boo our own team, and why when we are top (or 2nd)?

In fact why boo our own team at any time? Aren't we supposed to be the 12th man for our team rather than the other team?

There is one poster who has commented on this article who in my view absolutely wants PL to fail, has called him out for what he said yesterday and denied wanting failure. Not naming names but I bet a lot of people know who I mean.

Like I say I think he's aiming it at the press, but there are a few ‘fans' too

There are 50 odd comments on this thread, a lot of them are negative.

We won 4-1 yesterday, made a team on a decent run look terrible, looked like we could score whenever we were near their goal etc

I'd say he's got a point

Lambert: Referees' Chief Jones Can't Believe Goal Was Chalked Off
at 17:11:04

Ashley, it's not a pen against Garbutt as his arm is by his side, the Wycombe guy has his arm up, that is the difference. Red card for Chambers? Not for me, Donacien's first yellow was a joke but agree once on a yellow should have been sent off.

The impact of a red card 5 mins from time is negligible compared to a pen not given or (and) a goal wrongly disallowed.

That ref cost us 2 points you will never convince me otherwise

Actually now I think about it, he won the ball in the tackle for the first yellow right in front of us, so maybe shouldn't have been sent off overall

Donacien should have got a second yellow in the build up to the pen, but the ref got all excited coz he could give them a pen and forgot it.

I thought he was ok last night, not as good as sat, and I would argue that the foul he made was sacrificial to stop their break 5 mins from time, so possibly the right thing to do.

As it's turned out we've had a result with KVY out, no red card = no suspension. Maybe the only good thing you can say about that ref!

Lambert: Just Another Game, You Win Nothing in November
at 19:58:51

We do like to see the negative in everything don't we?

Clearly we want to win, but if we don't we carry on. Wycombe have played 10 home and 8 away games, we have played 7 at home and 9 away. I know that stat is going to provoke a response about us being better away or poor at home but even so I'm just trying to show that things aren't that bad really.

Have a look at Wycombe's run of games coming up. It's very difficult pretty much until the end of January and they have to do it on the back of an enforced break of 2 and a half weeks. The don't have another fixture of any kind until Dec 14. As many of us know that's a season killer 😉

Lambert: Whole Team Grew in the Second Half
at 13:20:23

Maybe you're right dissboy, but its not all about performances. Results mean we are in a great position, one that should improve if our performances improve and results reflect that.
Arguably our best home performance this season was Sunderland, but we didn't win. Nothing wrong with the performance apart, Sunderland barely threatened, their goal was more to do with us than them.

You could argue that in this league we should be dominating but we aren't Liverpool or Man City, should we really expect to rock up every week and witness an easy win. That would get boring anyway, its more fun on the edge!!

I get that you worry this might be our limit and that theres nothing more to give, we all do secretly, but equally we should all hope theres more to come. Maybe just enjoy the ride while we are at (or near) the top :)

Burley/Dissboy
At the end of the day what happens on Saturday is going to make or break either side of this argument, but in my view Burleys last post is excellently put.

If the international break is such an issue why is everybody else in the top 2 divisions not having the same problem? Surely if it breaks the rhythm or whatever it would do it to everyone. I know what our record is but can it not just be coincidence?

To say calling off is pointless is just flat wrong in my view. We were due to play Wycombe & Oxford, the team currently top and the team currently top of the form league. I have said it before but really you wanted to play those games without a number of our players. Its just a no brainer.

Dissboy you don't need to apologise for your opinion but those of us that don't agree with it don't need to either!

Some of the comments not just on this thread. There is someone on the thread with the team news yesterday wanting PL out ( the first comment saying it, I think the rest are sarcastic).

We are 2nd in the league with 2 games in hand on everyone, still in the 2 cups (we'll forget the Carabao Cup!), how can it be that bad??

While I'm having a moan does anybody really believe that PL is going to come out in public and say X is in my best team or Y is not in my best team. Of course hes not, hes going to manage it because he is a manager.

MacAnthony: EFL Could Be Open to Lawsuits Over Blues and Wycombe Facing Bolton Youngsters
at 14:56:50

This is just the funniest story ever reported on here.
He is all over twitter as well calling out Ipswich Wycombe and Bolton fans for daring to disagree with him.

Just a rich bully boy who is used to getting his own way, do we sue. Rochdale for being crap the day they played Peterborough and losing 6-0 or Accrington for being crap 3 days after they turned us over and losing 4-0.

I suppose that was just due to their brilliance!

Bettyblue if you actually read the article it says it was when asked after Saturdays game. I would respectfully suggest that you're the one who doesn't know what they are doing

Dobra and Folami Called Up
at 18:52:45

Clearly Folami is irrelevant and Dobra is too really but we are likely going to be without Downes Georgiou Judge and Dozzell. Not all starters I know but I'd argue why should we be at any disadvantage however small if we don't have to be?
In the previous breaks, ours has not been the only game called off, I haven't checked but I'm assuming everybody is calling off if they can, are they all wrong too?
I get the momentum thing and partly agree and I hate the breaks like everybody else, but if anyone has momentum at the moment it's Oxford. If we break their momentum by cancelling isn't that just another advantage?
