I think we should adopt Story of the Blues. Quite apt lyrics for us and quite an anthem to be blasted out by all 4 stands pre match. Sends shivers down my spine thinking about it.
To be fair the seagulls had started to get a bit brazen. At the Millwall friendly they were literally swooping in and stealing peoples half time chips. I hate birds. Feathered ones that is.
It makes me smile when people make comments like “worst fight I’ve ever seen”. I mean there’s no such thing as a good fight outside a football ground between a bunch of classless souls with innocent folk trying to get home with kids. Most of this lot would have run a mile when it kicked of in the 80s. Thought we’d moved on from this sort of nonsense.
Portman Road was awash with plenty of songs in the 70s, 80s and 90s. A rocking good atmosphere too. Some of today’s offerings were quite frankly embarrassing.
The last time I can actually say that we dominated a game and outclassed the opposition. I think it may be 4 or 5 years ago at least now. Certainly not at all recently. Such a chore watching IFollow.
I awoke this morning full of optimism regarding our season. I haven’t felt this way for well over a year. Lambert had drained all the hope and love I had for the club out of me. Now fast forward a week, a new likeable character at the helm and yes I know we haven’t kicked a ball in anger with him in charge yet, but things at least seem 100% more positive. What a difference a week makes.
Great band. Managed to see them live eventually a couple of years ago at Brixton Academy. Was just a kid when they came out, 79 I think, but been a fan ever since.
PM was my favourite Town player as a boy, loved him, one of ours and England’s greatest strikers in my opinion. Would definitely be wanting to invest and read that.
