| News Comment | Chopra Linked With Blackpool Move at 14:26:36
So much hope placed in Chops not only when he came here, but the year before when we didnt sign him. Unfortunately, he has become the personification of the whole Keane/Jewell era and the futility found there. Time to move on, too much water under the bridge with him to have him be a solid player here at this point. |
| News Comment | Holloway Confirms Scotland Offer at 20:58:23
I am hoping that Scotland can pick it up this year. Very nice goal last game, and as far as 350,000, is "jog on" the right English term for that? |
| News Comment | Jewell Apologises for Worst Defeat in Management at 02:52:28
That was God Awful! I got some friends together and we hit The Pub (real name) over here since it was on live TV. Was going to show them Town and all. By the 40th minute, they were looking at me and saying, "Dude, really?" Effing embarassing. Fact of the matter is the Columbus Crew would kill Town right now, and they knew it. So much for showing off Town. We need to get the back line straightened out immediatley or it is going to be a disaster of a season. |
| News Comment | Jewell: Easter Couldn\'t Have Gone Any Worse at 22:00:50
Over here, we don't have promotion/relegation. The result ends up being teams find themselves not playing for a whole lot with a couple of weeks to go so they go in the tank and basically go on break early. Our lads don't have alot to play for at this point as far as points are concerned, and it sure looks like they are doing the same. Yes there is pride to play for, but that never seems to hold much water. |
| News Comment | Swansea: No Contact on Scotland at 19:31:23
I agree. When you have a story with conflicting reports going different directions, it is probably a non-story. |
| News Comment | McParland Disappointed by Fabregas Comments at 13:08:27
I didnt have any team in the Premier League that I hated until now thanks to this little t**t. Dude, how you managed to miss from 3 yards is still mind boggling. Then to come out and cry about rugby, and the pitch whicle your pathetic manager whines about being tired? Go get your skirts back on, un bunch your panties, and try to act like the men you aren't. I agree with another post, plaster this on the wall and lets win it for Alan Ferguson. |
| News Comment | Jewell: Slate Wiped Clean For Everyone at 13:37:38
I like this. Clean slate, maybe Priskin will be allowed to put on a kit again. The big thing I like is bringing a more relaxed atmosphere to PR, both for the players and the fans. Football is supposed to be fun, isn't it? |
| News Comment | Keane: I\'d Love to Take Town Forward at 14:36:48
I was down on RK because it appeared the team had given up and weren't playing for him anymore. Then during the snowstorm, it was obvious who was playing and who wasn't. Give RK till the end of the year and see where we are. We are, what, 7 points out of 6th and 7 points from relegated aren't we? As long as the effort continues to improve on the pitch, lets see what happens. |
| News Comment | Police Reviewing Footage of Leeds Clash at 16:15:31
whoppit..I think the big difference is that there are so many sports over here it somewhat dilutes the focus. For instance, if the Browns arent doing well (imagine that) there is still Ohio State...or hockey...or baseball, etc. When I tell Americans about English football, the thing that really catches their attention is the fact that so many teams are on top of each other geographically and that each has the ability to make it to the Premier League through promotion. We dont have that over here and everyone thinks that is pretty cool. Those two things may explain why English fans take it to a higher level than over here. I would love to get to PR for a game. |
| News Comment | Police Reviewing Footage of Leeds Clash at 15:08:05
Well, it depends on what you mean by football. People are passionate about American Football, not so much as soccer. I enjoy both sports, but for some reason I enjoy following Town more than the Crew. Probably because of the emotion over there for the game. Even at Am Football games, which is where most Americans are the most passionate, the crowds are mixed. BTW, I know its not soccer, but needed to put it that way for simplicity. I just find it really interesting is all. Do you think it is a holdover from the 70s? |
| News Comment | Police Reviewing Footage of Leeds Clash at 14:28:20
This is really interesting reading. Over here we dont split fans and have away sections and bathrooms, etc. Generally there is a section where away fans sit, but it isnt physically seperated from the rest of the crowd and away supporters are spread out throughout the stadium. We don't really have the need for police intervention as an occasional fight might break out between 2-4 fans, but those are rare. The Columbus Crew played a friendly against Leeds over here in the mid-90s. There was a small group of Leeds suporters at the game who were singing before the game. We mostly took pictures of them thinking it was pretty cool. I am sure it wasnt the hooligans who made the trip tho. |
