I really wouldn't get bogged down in how long people have supported town for. Now we're premier league there's going to be loads of new fans and I'll love it! In fact there are posters on here and people I know who have no ipswich connections whatsoever other than that their dad's jumped on the ipswich bandwagon back in the 70s |

Proper weird how Wardley has become public enemy number one Outside of ITFC he's the town's biggest sporting asset. Allow it [Post edited 6 May 13:24]

| Forum Thread | Interesting comment from Aaron Paul on 5live this morning... at 08:14 30 Apr 2024
...about how much he used to hate getting assigned to ipswich matches, as the whole place was just so negative. Not only the football but the atmosphere in general. Quite a damning assessment of the pre-gamechanger days, but also sheds light on what people external to the club thought about how it was being run. It's understandable why we needed a demolition man approach, even if it can be argued that Cook went about it the wrong way I know Aaron Paul works for the club now, but he couldn't have been more glowing in his assessment of thr mentality of the current squad and the belief that they have |

Also not forgetting that there's a reason why these sides were relegated last season. If they couldn't show the fight needed to stay up then, they're not likely to be able to turn it on when it matters now I'm certainly not counting any chickens, but Southampton and Leeds both absolutely bottled their biggest games of the season this week. Let's hope we don't tonight |

Wes Burns I owe so much to him My boy's first ever football game was last season's home match vs MK Dons. His step dad is a Man Utd fan and where he goes to school all the kids support Liverpool, Utd or City (he lives in the North West), so there was a lot of pressure on him to be a Utd fan too I live in Yorkshire so don't get to many games at PR, but we were down for a few days in the summer and felt the time was right for his first ever match. I was unbelievably nervous about how it would go. It was a roasting hot day, he's not shown too much interest in football, Ipswich had been awful for years etc etc It took just 4 mins for Wes to score a beauty and for my boy to fall in love with Ipswich and for him to never mention Man Utd again Thank you Wes!! |

Would it? A Saints defeat would pretty much see them back out of contention for the autos I think I'd rather they won tomorrow night to give them something to play for against Leicester and Leeds. Ideally they'd go on to beat Leicester and draw with Leeds on the last day of the season |
| Forum Reply | Are English Clubs at 08:42 12 Apr 2024
Having 4 clubs in the quarter finals of the 2 European competitions (I'm not acknowledging the conference league thingy) suggests the EPL is in a pretty good place For some reason it seems to take some real pedigree and history in European competitions to advance beyond that though. Even poor Real Madrid sides have gone on to lift the champions league whereas clubs with little history in the competition that had millions pumped into them, seem to need a fair few years to grow into it Think how long it took Chelsea or City to win the CL |

The run ins are ridiculously similar as well Ipswich - 4 left to play. Average position of opposition = 11.75 Leicester - 5 left. Av 11 Leeds - 4 left. Av 11.75 |

Weird time to raise that question If we play like we did in that 1st half for the rest of the season, we won't be worrying about the play offs |
| Forum Reply | What’s the single biggest reason you want us to go up? at 16:56 8 Apr 2024
Because if we make it, that means we've won a lot more games than we've lost, and that's surely what everyone wants? Can't say the lure of the prem excites me that much. VAR is horrendous for the fan experience and I couldn't care less about seeing big teams/players at PR. But I want us to win every game we ever play, and a by-product of that is that we'll happen to be playing Premier League football (for a season at least) |

What good would a campaign do? Surely if someone thought it was a worthwhile enterprise then they'd open one? Or can we get whatever shops/takeaway we want through campaigning now? Quite fancy a whisky bar/record store at the end of my street. Maybe I'll start campaign for one |

| Forum Reply | England new kit has enraged Joey Barton and the gammons… at 15:17 22 Mar 2024
Exactly this. The fearmongering attached to anything that is seen as even slightly anti-patriotic has caused a massive retaliation and over reaction and as a result the flag, poppy etc are more visible now than I can ever remember And that's not before we mention how social media has become a cesspit of posts that start with "if my flag/poppy offends you..." There are plenty of examples of GB/England flags that have been 'played' with in sport over the years. But the furore has never been as big as it is now! |
