| News Comment | Chambers: Squad Better Than 2012 at 09:13:55
regardless of the wider squad. The Squad MM inherited had DJ Campbell, Chopra and Murph. This side has no goal threat at all. |
| News Comment | Everton Defender Pennington Close to Joining Blues at 15:54:12
Tilt will be cheaper in January as he can't start to negotiate terms with clubs for when he is a free agent next summer (well that's normal logic but who knows about Oyston!). Should Pennington perform ok, then long term this may be beneficial to us to have a stop gap whilst we wait for a cheaper deal for Tilt. Pennington: Positives; Dirty Leeds enquired to take him back, has over 20 games last year in this division, rated at EFC. Downsides; another younger player, team dependent on too many loans. |
| News Comment | Ex-Blue McGreal Impressing Town Bosses - Report at 20:55:51
Wouldn't be against this. Burley wasn't exactly winning trophies when we took him. There are other ex-team mates of JMs in coaching roles ; Stewart at brizzle, Clapham at Lincoln, Venus etc. Be good to have a management team who we could feel had a connection with the club. Sadly Evans couldn't give a sh*t about any of that so I'm sure this is just lazy journo given the proximity and ex player. |
| News Comment | Goteni Signing Confirmed at 18:08:02
Logically this is to cover a place in the u23 squad and allow Smith and woolfenden to stay out on loan. If he does well and earns a contract here or elsewhere next season then fair play to him. This is nothing to do with the first team squad, or covering the loss of berra, taylor and Smith permanently and webster injured since the summer. Happy with the spurs boy but we lack one more CB in my opinion and are particularly short of one commanding in the air against a big target man ( also be nice to have our own threat from set pieces). |
| News Comment | Bialkowski Misses Out Against Leeds Along With Webster, Ward and Smith at 15:07:12
Adeyemi situation definitely has more too it. MM refusal to talk shows signs of frustrations. There's more to how someone can be ill for three months with a mystery illness and then injured with non-descript injuries without ever a target return like the rest have. |
| News Comment | Academy Head of Recruitment McGavin Leaves Town to Join Norwich at 12:06:44
In my (albeit very limited) experience no loss. I emailed this chap about I boy I was coaching (in Essex) at U9s. To advise that he was the most naturally gifted goalkeeper i had witnessed, and I'd like the club to look at him. Steve replied that he'd scout him. I then chased twice. Ipswich never came. In the end I put my allegiances aside and contacted other clubs who all scouted. He now plays in another academy. |
| News Comment | U23s Come From Behind to Beat Crewe at 18:07:17
Good to see Luke back. Local kid who cares about the club and fans. Not the most gifted on the ball, but engine and commitment can be big boost if we want to play high press. Fans need to get behind him, mick's comments around him smiling are clear signpost of fragile self esteem/confidence. |
| News Comment | Town Set to Sign Adeyemi Today at 11:45:53
the fact the he's made a lot of appearances wherever he's been, that Rosler re-signed him and that he's been a vice captain are hopefully enough to dispel doubts around why he hasn't settled anywhere. |
| News Comment | Town Set to Sign Adeyemi Today at 11:07:15
Happy with this. I would though, like Mick to be challenged on what his plans for Bishop and Dozzell are in light of the Huws/Adeyemi additions. Are we writing Bish off as a lost talent. Are they going out on loan? |
| News Comment | Pitman and Bru Can Leave Town at 10:59:40
Surprised by Bru. Never going to be first team regular. But given you'd expect low wage demand as he was unattached then you'd think good squad option |
| News Comment | McCarthy Turned Down Forest Interview at 19:32:00
Shows his ego. That whilst out of work he was more worried about losing face if he didn't get the job than talking to the club about a role he was initially interested in. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Forest Game Could Be Berra's Last for Town at 15:23:06
I get he's not Venus on the ball, but people fail to understand how good his positioning and reading of game is defensively. For previous two seasons he's been remarkable in always being in right place and helps his partner to do likewise. Wobble in form this year is there for all to see, whether or not due to age, daughter or whole squad performance is open to debate. |
