| Forum Reply | Prem clubs to vote on scrapping VAR at 18:10 15 May 2024
The whole VAR thing is a bit mental - the system is EXACTLY what all the money-hungry top teams voted for. They just refused to listen to the sensible people telling them it wouldn't improve so many of the things they're worried about. If they did remove it (they won't) then they'll vote again in a couple of years to reinstate it. It's a bizarre, collective delusion that, until now, I've found quite funny. I don't suspect I will any more. Can you imagine that Sarmiento goal being disallowed because of a vague foul in the build up...? |

This is absolutely delicious. If we'd had a £200m squad we wouldn't have finished third matey... |

50 minutes with a stupid grin on my face. It's so well made and so thoughtfully put together. Like someone else said, it's the little moments...like right at the end when Jackson reaches out on the bus like he's scared Broady's gonna fall off! |
| Forum Reply | where is Elkan Baggott in the We Are Premier League group photo? at 11:18 7 May 2024
I might be wrong, but I *think* he was there on Saturday. I was a long way away but someone that looked a lot like Elkan, and in training kit, came onto the pitch after the invasion but it did look like he was having to be encouraged to do so.... |

I did wonder how I'd feel if the roles were reversed and Hudds needed a point to go up ahead of Norwich. I HATE losing, but... |

Definitely one of my worst experiences as a town fan that night. Properly intimidating atmosphere. Leeds in 2007 was also awful and it's scandalous how lightly they got away with some of the things their fans did that day. |

Omari was the same after the Boro game - he looked devastated that we hadn't found the winner. They're all 100% in with this journey aren't they, God love 'em... |
| Forum Reply | Will you be disappointed… at 09:09 23 Apr 2024
I will be, but maybe not for long - although that also depends on exactly how we lose in the playoffs...and who to! In the end, we've gone toe-to-toe with three of the best squads ever seen in the Championship and pushed them right to the wire - largely with the same squad that played in League One last season. That's incredible and I'm really proud of them all. But of course, it'll sting for a bit. |

Thanks for sharing this. I hope you appreciate that posts like this have knock on effects that actually save people's lives, so you've done something very important for others as well as yourself. I would echo a point that someone else made above, don't think of therapy as a cure, more a way of managing. I've just finished my 8th or 9th go with therapy for anxiety and (obviously) none have 'cured' me but each helped in their own way to educate me and move me on. And these things do pass, even when it seems impossible. More practically, I'd say make sure that you're on the radar at your GPs - it always helps when you need help that they understand the history. I'd also recommend looking at online NHS help as well (I've just done 10 sessions by zoom) as the waiting lists are much shorter, it's much less intrusive to your life and the experience isn't that much different. You don't mention anything about medication in your post. I've been taking anti-depressants for about 20 years and I find they really help, even on a low dose like I am now. They don't work for everyone, and you may have to try a few options, but they can really help with over-thinking as they can make everything a bit more fuzzy and softer around the edges! And don't think twice about the stigma - that's the reason why so many men of different generations end up being...challenging. Try and think of it like managing a bad back. You know it will play up every now and then, but you also know you can manage. When it plays up you practice self care and you try to avoid things that trigger the pain. And day-to-day get help carrying the heavy stuff... Anyway, that's my tuppence worth. Thanks for sharing and I'm very glad your here with us, fighting the good fight... |

...have I ever felt so consistently on edge. Yes it's not doing great things for my general anxiety, but it is sooooo exciting...! After nearly 20 years of drudgery, this is what it's all about! |
