Oppenheimer Movie - 3hrs of my life I want back
at 18:10 2 Aug 2023

The film is called Oppenheimer. It is very clear, it's even at the top of the ticket when you walk in. I am quite confident most people did not see a big explosion in the trailers and think that there would be little else to the story than said explosion.

Christ alive. Surely the literal name of the film was a dead give away as to what the film would be about.

Not sure what happened to those involved but the building is fine, just a sign that's been knocked off by the look of things.

Real ale pub for Saturday

A good choice - good range of beer and quick service. Usually have a hot food stand out in the alley/garden

The Wolsey is always packed before a game, so it will most certainly be open, but might not be the best place if you want somewhere to sit down.

If we developed an edge of town/out of town new stadium I'd not bother going anymore. Walking down to the town, having a few drinks, is all part of the match day for me. Sod slogging it to the edge of the A14 for the Coca-Cola Stadium.

Everything else - great stuff!

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/552036

This petition set up by Dorking Wanderers last night seems to have got a bit of attention on Twitter. I think that football games are to be shown in Vue cinemas yet (very reduced capacity etc.) pilots have not restarted at outdoor stadiums says it all, really.

May be of interest to some!

Makes the hysterical reaction from some fans on social media to the QPR link all the more embarassing now.

Likewise.

I also think it would be great if we could do something for/in the run up to the weekends we were supposed to play Bury. Be that a fundraiser for those who've lost their jobs or something relating to a "phoenix club" if something begins to start up around that I don't know... something, any way.

The right decision. The root cause of most of the issues in modern day football lay with them.

Having, like many of us presumably, previously commuted via Greater Anglia - I can only say that their communication is beyond dire.

You learn to live with the constant delays, but the failure/complete lack of care to communicating why there's delays/cancellations, lengths of delays, alternative plans is inexcusable. There's also a shocking lack of communication between stations.

Rant over! God only knows what they have planned for Saturday

He helped change the game back in our favour when he came on at Burton and looked very assured. I haven’t been to the past two games but are we flouncing a little bit here?

Some excellent advice in this thread. Would certainly suggest Citizens Advice. Your local MPs office should also assist with support/pointing you in the right direction if you get in touch with them. They will know how the systems work.

You can find out who your local MP is by putting your postcode into this site if you're not sure:

4-4-2 yesterday
at 11:17 4 Aug 2019

Interested to know what people thought of the 4-4-2 yesterday?

Thought it really worked going forward early doors but felt we were a bit overrun by Burton's midfield until we switched to the 4-2-3-1.

Pros and cons and all that! It'll be interesting to see what Lambert goes for next weekend.

Donacien had a ropey start but defended pretty solidly thereafter. I think he's capable enough defensively but offers very little going forward. Looks lost down the wing.
