Thread | A poor side made worse

Struggling to think of another manager who has come in with such immediate ineffectiveness. There is not one aspect of the team that has improved. No individual player has progressed. No formation that works has emerged. Occasionally there are hints of a different style but not consistently. Team selections are odd; more like semi organised auditions or test runs for unlikely future combinations.
I imagine the new owners are concerned. Cook was hired to take us into the play offs. Simply blaming the players isn't an option I imagine would or should be accepted. However whatever happens he will have less control over transfer business with the new set up than any previous Town manager. That looks certain. |

Trying to find a benchmark to work out how poor a side we are? I cannot remember a worse Town side since I started watching in the 80s. i recall a few teams habitually struggling in this league - Bury, Rotherham, Swindon spring to mind. There were sides like Yeovil struggling to adapt to the level. This seems to be the standard we have been taken to by Hurst. If were in League One I would guess we would be mid table at best.
