| News Comment | Sheeran to Extend Town Sponsorship at 08:34:38
I'm sure we probably could have touted ourselves around following our new found fame, to find a sponsor who'd probably pay more money - but I'm so glad we've stuck with Ed again this year. He chose us when we were down in league one and I'm glad that we have showed some loyalty too now we're on the cusp of the Premier league. Such a shame he can't be in Ipswich to celebrate with us, but like he said, that sponsorship doesn't pay for itself! He'd deffo be here if he wasnt performing. Enjoy Miami Ed, let's hope the lads do it today and see you back at PR next season! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Watford - Match Report at 22:04:19
Needed to take those chances we had in the 1st half. Watford came to frustrate us and they did that. Credit to them - 2nd half they gave us very little. Subs uncharacteristically innefective tonight. Just got to hope Boro come to play on Saturday and not to park the bus. Really struggling without Wes. Still in our hands though. COYB. One last push! |
| News Comment | Williams Remains at Town at 08:45:56
For all we know Man United may have been running the rule over him to bring him back into their first team for 2nd half of the season as they are struggling. Would explain the mysterious nature of him going and the relative secrecy around it? Or could have just been illness as reported. |
| News Comment | Edwards Leaves Town By Mutual Consent at 13:42:18
Probably the best move for both parties. With his injury it saves us the wages and even when fit he's unlikely to get game time here. One of the best dribblers we've had in recent times and capable of magic moments, but unfortunately a real lack of end product which unfortunately is what wins matches. I think League One is about right for him. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up (presumably Oxford in the summer). Always did his best and cost nothing so was worth signing at the time. Thank you Kyle for your efforts in the promotion season - certainly played a part. |
| News Comment | West Bromwich Albion 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 19:43:35
Well played West Brom. Game plan worked perfectly and nullified us completely. It does seem teams have the measure of us these days. Press us high from the off and good chance you'll get an early goal. Sometimes I do wish we had a plan B. Plan A works well usually but so often if it's not working we just change the players and keep the same formation and hope it works. We need to develop an alternative for games like this tonight where the opposition have clearly clued up on how to counter us. |
| News Comment | McKenna: We Need a Training Facility Which Matches Our Ambitions at 11:15:23
If we are serious about becoming a top level club we need top level facilities. We've got the top level manager and top level staff now. It's all coming together nicely. To be honest it's probably better to maybe focus on the facilities while we consolidate our position in the championship for a season or 2 and then once those are in place, THEN we make our promotion push. Hopefully by then we've amassed a few quid in the bank from player trading to be able to afford the bigger transfer fees on the players we will need. |
| News Comment | Page: Burns Pulled Hamstring at 09:34:21
Not sure everyone will agree with me on this one but I'm perfectly fine with Jackson filling in at RW, with Hutch coming on as sub at 60 mins. Not a massive loss for us. |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Williams Loan Signing at 13:44:44
Welcome to the project Brandon! Bout time KMcK pulled some strings and used his standing to secure a signing or two from his old clubs! |
| News Comment | Stevenage Eyeing Baggott Loan at 11:31:02
Has very good potential. Is he better than Burgess? Not far off but probably not quite. Assuming we are going to sign a new 1st choice LCB then think a full season in L1 would be great for him. Or whack a Jan recall in there if he's doing really well. |
| News Comment | Town Closing in On Hutchinson Loan Signing at 13:06:26
A raw talent who hopefully KMc can develop quickly into a top talent in this division. Imagine he might take a few games to come to terms with Championship football but hope once he finds his feet he can express himself in our attacking system. Good luck to the lad! |
| News Comment | McKenna Tight-Lipped on Hutchinson at 00:56:02
I still think we need a new first choice CB to play alongside Wolf. Burgess is OK and will be fine against the lower and more physical teams in the division or to shore up a match, but I think he will be found out by the faster or more skillful teams. I think KMc hasn't ruled one out. He says we're not looking to add just for the sake of numbers, but not that were not looking to add there entirely - which to me reading between the lines means we're looking for a new first choice CB. Also his response about an imminent signing to me suggests Hutchinson is close and will hopefully be in by end of the week to challenge Wes on RW. |
| News Comment | Duo in League One Team of the Season at 08:27:32
Agree that Morsey should be in there. Doesn't get the most goals or assists which is probably why they have omitted him - but for everything else 100% should be there. Don't agree Walton should be there though. I can why he'd be a candidate due to the number of clean sheets and goals conceeded (which I would say is testament to the whole team dominating games, but also to the defence as a whole unit) - but I have to conceed that Cooper has been a better keeper this season in terms of saves made and is half the reason Plymouth are where they are. |
| News Comment | TWTD League Calculator 2022/23 at 10:46:06
So based on the calculator I have Wednesday 1st, Plymouth 2nd, us and Barnsly for 3rd or 4th depending on whether we beat Barnsley or lose. I just cannot see where Plymouth and Wednesday are going to drop points. They literally have no hard games left on paper wheras we have several. Thankfully football is not played on paper. But we definitely need some shock results to go our way to finish top 2. |
| News Comment | McKenna: We Know It’s a Big Three Points at 18:39:47
@Gforce I see your point - But Lambert also had no idea of coaching, tactics and had a very poor underfunded squad. You can't compare Lambert to McKenna. However I would love to see KM show some of PLs enthusiasm on the touchline as I honestly think it would help motivate the players. |
