I don't think anybody is disagreeing with playing some youngsters last night and looking at what the future has to offer, everybody is behind what he is trying to do in that sense but please don't come out and say we played well.
It was 90 minutes of us trying to break down a pretty defensively minded Colchester and our only tactic was lump it towards Ben Folami who to his credit battled against two big centre backs all night, PL coming out and saying “it was a poor performance but good to get the young ones a game and they will learn from it” Is far better than basically lying, because if like myself you were one of the 2,700 then I will be surprised if you thought we played well.

I am fed up of Ipswich fans slating chambers. He is a loyal servant to the club and is one of the few players who actually care. He makes mistakes yes but can anyone name one player who hasn't this season?
More importantly his experinace could be massive in getting us out of league 1 I personally want to see him stay at the club for a really long time.

Great idea for such a massive game! I am a season ticket holder and couldn't care less if I lose out to be honest. If filling the ground and getting behind the team keeps us in the league then who cares what I lose. COYB!
Hopefully Evans will see that if he lowers the stupidly high matchday prices we might get bigger gates. The support is there we just need to give people an incentive to go at the moment, why would families pay £50+ to watch the football we are serving up this season so close to Christmas when money is tight.

Don't care if Evans is there or not to be honest. My football club was here long before him and will be there long after he is gone, whatever state he decides to leave it in.
Some posts are spot on in terms of being positive, I went to forest on Saturday and I can tell you now it was nice to be surrounded by proper Ipswich fans, no moaning, no knocking the team, just 90 mins of getting behind them. Let's face it things are bad and they can still get worse but for gods sake let's do it fighting the opposition not each other!!
13,000 against Bristol city in what was one of the biggest games in our season. Credit to those 13,000 but where did everyone else go?
Yes it's expenisive I completely understand all that but if we were top of the league people would find the money (not all but more than 13,000). If you are an Ipswich town supporter now is the time more than ever to prove it and support, get down to PR and back them non stop.
In terms of Evans I am bored of saying the same things about him. He doesn't care like we do! |

Entertainment increased? When? Did I miss something? Mick McCarthy would have been slated on here for our performance against Blackburn. I understand it's a very new side and we are trying a different approach which is fine, it may well take time to gel etc and work very well, but all this we are playing better football is just nonsense.
I want PH to succeed as much as anyone but why some people are pretending he is somehow the best thing since sliced bread confuses me. Just as I won't be calling for his head anytime soon he also has to prove he is worth his salt at this level before he gets all the plaudits.
Hopefully better times ahead and we have some very promising players that if they gel together could do really well just need some time. COYB! |

Communicate with supporters (not customers). It's only taken him 10 years to realise a football club is nothing without the people who turn up and support them every week. Forget what's been and gone it's time for all ipswich fans to get back to PR next season and really get behind whoever it is and if things don't start well don't start all the moaning and groaning just stick with them for a season or two.
Positives only to come of this but I am sure some will do there very best to put a negative spin on things.

Can't please some people, mick has gone and this is just one of his players saying he thought the manager on the whole done a good job. Which in most peoples opinion I think he did for a time but things fell away. He had zero investment to be fair it's just unfortunate his football is terrible to watch.
Luke chambers has been a good servant to the club and one of the best captains around yet people have to knock him down, at least the guy shows he cares. What would rather him come out and say the manager was useless should have been sacked ages ago? Or say nothing and just throw in the towel for the rest of the season.

Whether mick stays or goes this is massive news, is Marcus Evans finally getting the message he needs to step up and give this club some direction. Who knows mick might even do well with if he has some backing. I personally want to see someone New given a chance now I think there are so many supporters against him that he can't recover but none the less this news is a big step in the right direction.

Is it worrying that I still kind of like the guy?
I am not saying he should stay but do you know what he is just saying it how it is he makes some good points about the fans and him pulling in the same direction it doesn't help that there is such a big divide and neither mick or us fans help the situation. There is however one man who can fix all of this and one man who has made all this happen. That man is Marcus Evans if he doesn't want the spotlight or the pressure of running a football club then he shouldn't have brought one. He has let mick down big time and more importantly he has ruined the club. |

I wish he would try and help himself he just doesn't say the right things. I don't believe for one second he doesn't want to win every game and that he doesn't try his best and give it all he has but sometimes that's just not enough. He has done a good job with the budget he has had but it's beyond what's happening on the pitch now the club has lost its way and mick has become a big part of that.
Time to go now Mick just so the club can try again, my biggest fear is that we will get rid of Mick but we will still have the faceless Marcus Evans at the controls of the club. He is the biggest problem don't forget that. Mick is a man who cares but has lost his way but Evans couldn't care less about us fans or our club. |

Anychance everyone could get behind the team over the next two games and forget about mick and your views on him. There is nearly no chance of us making the play offs but I think it's sad some people on here are so caught up in getting mick out they are hindering the teams slim playoff hopes (very slim). Once the playoffs are out of the question then protest do whatever you need to becasue it won't matter then. If we go 1-0 down on Saturday and are playing rubbish get behind them be positive even if micks tactics aren't.
Just to say I in no way support mick but at the same time I do support Ipswich town and I want them to win. My dream would be at the end of the season for mick to be lifting the trophy at Wembley telling us all to Foxtrot Oscar!!

Why do I get a horrible feeling this means Dougie will be back on Saturday.
Stick with the midfield from Tuesday night all three of them looked like they wanted to go forward when we had the ball. I think we are nearly safe now so we should go to Fulham and try and get a positive performance out of everyone.
I will probably get stick for saying this but I wouldn't bring Lawrence back either been a brilliant player for us but he's not the future. Nobody from Tuesday deserves to be dropped although mick will probably come out and say they can't play two games in five days!

We have all been saying how much we wanted an attacking side and finally McCarthy has given us that today, how long have we all been saying it doesn't matter how many you concede with players like Williams, mcgoldrick, Sears etc. You will generally score more than you let in! Today is proof!
We have one of the best goalkeepers in the division with 2 good centre halfs in front of him aswell which helps.
I am not saying today means we will go on and get in the playoffs or that McCarthy is now some tactical mastermind but it is a small improvement. I honestly believe with a manger who is willing to play our best players and not pick his favourites, all we need is a decent RB (chambers got done over and over again today) and a striker. After that the side begins to look half decent.
Bring on the new year where hopefully McCarthy sees this game as a step in the right direction and changes his style of play and team selections. If not a new young hungry manager wanting to prove himself should take over and do something with what is on paper a pretty good championship line up!
