Network rail have kindly decided to rip up the rails between Surbiton and Woking over the weekend so if your coming by train either accept A LONG replacement journey from Woking to Surbiton or try to use Great Western services instead.
Test match starts today at Lords. A very inexperience England side will play NZ. 4th choice wicket keeper James Bracey will play. Top 7 is quite easy to pick
Burns Sibley Crawley Root Lawrence Pope Bracey
The welcome return of the Sun has thrown a bit of a spanner in do we now pick leach. Both Broad and Anderson will play which means picking one from Robinson, Overton, Stone and Wood. I’d go for Stone as think he has the ability to scare batsmen with his pace but think England will be conservative and pick Robinson as he can bat at 8.
Well that ended pretty much as expected except for some Moeen fun at the end. India were just far too good for us on a turning pitch, they knew where to bowl and to keep runs down and there batters played better than ours.
Last time a day/nighter was played in India the Indian spinners didn’t take a wicket in the test! Be interesting to see what type of pitch they do produce.
England are definitely hedging there bets and named a squad of 17! We will see changes how many though will be like a game of Lambingo. One definite change no Moeen he wanted to go home and has been allowed to do so. Would be amazed if Anderson doesn’t come in. If it’s not a raging Bunson then I’d replace both Broad and Moeen with Anderson and Archer. Don’t think the Indian batsman would enjoy a double barrage from Stone and Archer!
Good work from England knocking off the remaining runs this morning. 5 consecutive wins away from home now which is some going especially as this team was really under prepared.
Still some issues though, I don’t think Sibley has the technique to open in India he is offering an edge to left arm and leg spinners. What do you do if Lawrence scored 100’s and 50 between now and opening test in India can you drop him?
Think England might play 3 spinners in next test with Ali coming in for Curran, don’t think they will change the top 6. Anderson and Stone will open the bowling.
Can I ask you all for a small favour. Morrison’s are giving our hard working teachers a well earned 10% discount however they’ve decided that 6th form teachers don’t qualify. My wife is a 6th form teacher and works equally hard as primary and secondary if you can tweet Morrison’s and tell them what a bad call this is my wife and her brilliant colleagues would be very grateful.
Interesting from Colchester United explaining how revenue from IFollow works
Home club keeps all monies raised by home fandom they also keep the money from the first 500 away fans to buy the game, after that the away club keep the rest. For Colchester’s last game they sold 452 to col u fans and 2252 to Bolton fans! Colchester don’t expect to make any money all season from away games. Be interesting to find out how many we are selling.
