| Forum Reply | Who is, or was, the best footballer on here.......? at 16:45 12 Apr 2024
Played for St John’s and then Achilles youth teams. Also played for South Suffolk, Suffolk and East Anglia boys with Richard Wright, Danny Mills and a lad that played abit for Cambridge Michael Kidd. At U14’s we won the league, league cup, minor cup and easy cup( East Anglian Sunday Youth Cup) won every match for the season. Geoff Hammond( ex town ) used to scout for WBA in the days when Ossie Ardilles was in charge so at 16 went there for a trial and was offered a 6 month extended trial so moved up there. At the time Scott Darton was playing in the first team ( he’s from Ipswich) and he was great with me as he knew I was from Ipswich. I won’t give the usual excuses from then on, didn’t have the attitude, got caught with girls in our digs, probably wasn’t good enough, jacked it in at 18. My son is now at Ipswich and plays a few years up in the academy, also plays internationally and has a much better attitude than me so hopefully I’ll elaborate further in the future. If you’re good enough then Leicester, Leeds and Southampton have generally shown there is lots of easy games. |

This is understandable Ipswich supporter logic after so many years of rubbish. But QPR would be one of everyone’s top choices to play at home if we could select our next match. Recently things have changed so hopefully will continue. |

For once the loan market will be our friend and luckily we will also be very appealing with our position and our manager to attract the kind of loanee that is worthwhile. |

I usually use the sky sports scores app to check matches coming up and scores on the day. Although it’s a first world problem it seems strange I have to scroll past women’s super league, women’s Scottish premier league and women’s championship before I can check the scores of euro 2024 qualifiers. Is it a box ticking excersise or are they in order of importance as it always was? |

Friendlies and qualifiers have always been rubbish, as have tournaments until just lately. Unless you are going back 50 years or so. |

I think it’s more about making not so popular games cheaper to encourage fans. If it was one price for everyone it would probably be the higher price all season. |

I was close, it looked a possible foul, definitely outside the box, but I think wolfy was covering, and he made such a meal out of it which didn’t help him. A yellow at best. |

Didn’t do too bad without him on Tuesday, I understand the pessimism but I think our strength in depth is better than we think. |

His point I would assume is that Walton isn’t tried and tested with how we play at a championship level. Hladky is and we’ve won every match this season except one against better players. |

It’s only been mentioned numerous times on here in the last couple of weeks. So yeah I did. |
