For me, one of the worst loanees was Tony Dinning, from Stockport I think. He would have been the worst had It not been for the previously mentioned Bobby Howe! |

Welcome to Portman Road Danny Re only a month on loan. Maybe the deal involving the fella from Swansea isn't dead and this loan deal will provide the cover we need until Swansea have their players back from injury. This will then allow the loan deal to go ahead for him (Tate?) until Jan and then made permanent. Who knows - (cue "certainly not Jewel" comments!) |

Agree that a RB and CM are needed. I noticed on the PFA list that Stephen Wright is out of contract and looking for a club. I think we could do a lot worse for a reserve right back and he has played for Sunderland. (sorry couldn't resist the last bit!) |

All the best, Jon. You deserve a good reception on Saturday, but hopefully that will be as good as your day gets. I presume that the relatively small fee may have something to do with his current wages. If Stead doesn't want to take a pay cut (and how many of us actually want to, even if you were to earn over 10k a week) then Bristol will want to save on the cost of the player to pass this saving on in wages. If, as appears to be the case we needed him off the wage bill, it was determined that the loss on his percieved market valve was offset by the saving on his wages (or the net saving after the wages of his replacement!). Just a thought |
