Moment of the season...
at 11:08 6 May 2024

... honestly, I've never celebrated a goal like Sarmiento vs Saints, and I include any goal vs the budgies in that.

Absolutely seismic goal, I didn't sleep that night... eventually, after the impact had sunk in, maybe 48 hours later, came the realisation that we might, actually, go up.

Even the subsequent no-show at Carrot Rd failed to diminish it, not least cos Cov beat Leeds 2 hours later.

Everyone in PR lost their minds for a good 5 minutes after that goal.

Think there were rumours that Derby were keen in January, if my hungover brain recalls correctly.

Boy done (very) good after enduring Hurst, Lambert & Cook.

Palmer and Eccles both very good for them.

Wright scored, and that was about it - and Simms had an absolute stinker, thankfully.

I am drinking cheap Cider trying to calm down after tonight, that was absolutely vile.

Below Div 3, you've Bradford struggling in Div 4, which is nuts.

Anyone reckon Portsmouth fans are going to boo the pitch invasion coming soon?

Gloomy post, this.

'Comparing our 2nd place in League one, to winning the Bundesliga for the first time is a bit different and laughable' - except we didn't know we were 2nd at the time, did we? We did, however, know that we were promoted, and had something to celebrate for the first time in 20 (twenty) years. Find that 'laughable' if you want, pal, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Can't recall any Exeter players being chased or hit, either; proper weird to suggest otherwise.

And yes, all English fans are moronic, excellent.

So strange that this sub-section of society is judged by the actions of the few, rather than the many. BlueLagos writes far better about this than I....

Derby games/ policing/ load of old crap about nothing really
at 19:58 16 Apr 2024

So I see Southampton are at home tonight against Preston, in a pretty-much 'must-win' game to keep their automatic hopes alive.

20 miles down the M27, Pompey need a point against Barnsley at home to get promoted (currently losing 1-0, eeek)

Two pretty big games on the South coast.

So that's 30k at St Marys, perhaps 23k at Fratton Park - Hampshire plod presumably fairly happy with all that. Midweek evening games too.

Imagine us and the Norfolk dickheads playing at home on the same day, much less of an evening - East Anglian plod really aren't much good, are they.

Christ.

Wardley, I get it, man in the limelight, worthy of a few tickets (and, btw, the rematch against Clarke might be good fun at PR....)

Dyer, though.... love him, and all that, but he's been pretty scathing of the current admin....

David Lloyd, eeek.....

If that's true, that's fcking outrageous.

Today appalling (come on Cov/ Brum), but to have people forking out for memberships etc, in light of that - yeah, Ashton, fix up and address that.

400 surely nonsense.... surely?

I can confirm that it was just as absurd in there, as it looked.

People dancing like loons, ending up rows and rows away from their seats, everyone furiously hugging, and a LOT of screaming.

A proper MDMA goal.

Makes me properly grin even now...

Jack Taylor

He was excellent last night, and also very good against Brizzle when he came on, too.

Luongo has been terrific for us, but struggled last night against an excellent midfield pairing of Downes and Stuart Armstrong. There's no shame at all in that - they're both very good players - but it's perhaps the first time Luongo has looked 2nd best for us, in the 15 months he's been here.

Morsy was imperious, and will deal with McLean on Saturday - maybe Taylor should get a start....

Beginning of the end for Blue Action?
at 10:36 11 Mar 2024

Apropos of very little here, and talking from a purely anecdotal perspective, I think part of the teenage support experience is going away, getting drunk and excited, and acting like a nobhead.

I got punched in the head at Carrow Rd in 1996 (Danny Sonner scored a blinder, and I deserved it), and, 3 years later at Swindon, I got basically told by about 30 Towun fans to sit down, shut up and fck off, after turning up drunk and giving some poor old Swindon steward grief over pretty much nothing.

I've also, in more recent times (maybe 10 years ago), started on Sitters and his mates at the back of the NSL over not much at all, prompting a mid-game downstairs 'chat' and, happily, an amicable resolution (do pass my best onto Sam if you see him, Sitters...)

Of course, I am now an exemplary Towun fan, and many others in North Lower follow my lead when passing comment on Keith Stroud's excellent refereeing, along with many other issues.

Simply, if you're punching people at football, then you might be taking it a little bit too seriously.

In any case, I've a lot of love for Blue Action; the OPs post is a bit wild.

Rob Green the last budgie I properly despised; piss-poor keeper, who should've been nowhere near the England team.

Sutton is a clown voicing nonsense, loudly, for money (plenty of others doing that nowadays, to be fair; hello, Joey Barton...)...

Difficult to think of any more recent ones; Bamford is a tart, but I don't hate him.

There was a ball from Sarmiento out wide to Burns in the lead-up to the first goal, that was almost as good.

That 2nd goal absolutely stinks from Hladky; inane goalkeeping.

The goals at Watford and Preston are forgivable, that's the (occasional) cost of how we play - but that's a huge error tonight.

Anyway, he (and we) got away with it.
