Hull City 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:14:10

I think the club are damned if they do, damned if they dont.

Quite sure a few months back fans were calling for a young up and coming manager from the lower leagues (which we now have) and a bunch of young hungry players from the lower leagues (which we also now have).

Anyone remember us losing to Lincoln City? I seem to recall a lot of you calling for Marcus Evans to sack Mick and get Danny Cowley in, and a few players from the lower leagues as they were much better than the dross we had.

Biting you all in the arse now isn't it!

Hurst: We're Going to Try and Be Positive Against Villa
at 20:57:43

Not quite sure where all this utter despair is swn, other than on here from posters such as yourself.

I was gutted MM got hounded out of the club, but he's now gone and we move on.

If you were a realist, you'd have realised that 2 league games and a pointless cup game into a new season is by no means a yardstick for the rest of the season.

Your ridiculous take on the current status of the club makes you look exactly like one of the boo boys you're referencing.

3 games in and our own fans have already written off the entire club as destined for league 1. What amazingly fickle fans some of you are.

McCarthy Confirms Town to Exercise Options on Chambers and Berra Deals
at 18:09:28

Deserved on both counts. Well done Chambo and Berra. Both have been ever present and have worked hard no matter the position they've played in.

Have a sneaking suspicion both of them will move on in the summer. If that's the case then its a good bit of business for the club, as its likely a fee will be involved if either player moved on.

Not quite sure what all the moans and groans are about. Any excuse I suppose!

McCarthy Has No Intention of Walking Away and Plans to Build Again at Town
at 19:14:32

Some of you are so wonderfully miserable. Never in my life have I seen so many southerners taking offence to a northerner saying it how it is.

PSGBlue.... I think you'll find threatening little children isn't popular amongst many football fans regaardless of whether they hate Mick McCarthy or not. You sad little pr*ck.

McCarthy: Owner Evans Consistent in His Attitude
at 19:42:22

For those of you who consistently call for the owner to sack the manager and leave the club, please answer the below questions for us brainless, rose tinted fans who haven't got a clue...

- Name one manager who could do better with the paltry budget (in footballing terms) that Mick McCarthy has had at his disposal... bearing in mind that at least a third of the clubs in the league will have tens of millions in parachute payments to give them an unfair advantage over their competitors?
- If the owner decided to listen to the remarks made by a handful of fans and left the club tomorrow, what do you think would happen to our beloved ITFC?

Would genuinely love to see some sensible balanced responses, although something tells me that won't happen.

McCarthy: We Go to Norwich With Confidence
at 23:33:35

My eldest son is now 10, and he hasn't ever had the pleasure of seeing us win against them. In fact I think the first town game he ever saw was when we lost to them 5 - 1. Unfortunately he remembers it vividly, and Grant Holt's name is forever etched in his memory. Poor kid!

Anyway, looking forward to Sunday. With nothing to play for other than pride, and with Nodge not playing particularly well at present, its the perfect chance to lay the ghosts of 2011 and 2015 to rest.

Brighton and Hove Albion 1-1 Ipswich Town - Full-Time
at 18:23:27

great result last night, we're looking a lot more solid across the board. Amazing what a couple of new signings and a bit of confidence does for the team. Long may it continue!

At the time of writing i've noticed there are only 68 comments on this match report, compared to the 200+ that appeared within a few hours of us losing to Lincoln City. Quite sad that some fans only seem to have something to say when we aren't doing well... and some of you wonder why you are labelled moaners / Mick haters!!!

Aston Villa 0-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:56:00

Excellent result today. Was exceptionally important to carry the performance from the Reading game into this one - and we did.

Well done to Mick and the squad for working exceptionally hard to turn things around. The last couple of months have not been easy for them or any of the fans but things at the moment seem to be looking brighter with each game we play. More of the same please!

Dyer: Players Need Fans’ Support Not Protests
at 18:07:47

Largely agree with Kieron's comments. Not surprised at the scathing comments i've read on here from the usual suspects, wouldn't expect anything less!

Ok so a few questions here for those of you so disgruntled at our 'shambles' of a club...

If we get rid of Mick, who would we replace him with who would do a better job with the limited funds he has had?

If we got rid of some of the players as some of you are suggesting, who would you replace them with bearing in mind the manager would have limited funds; in fact even less funds after settling up all these contracts?

If Marcus Evans was to leave, who would fund the £6m+ black hole in the clubs finances that is plugged year on year without question?

It may have escaped many fans minds of late but surely the simplest most effective thing to do would be to cheer the team on no matter what, and let them all do their jobs knowing they have your support. If you want to protest because you don't like what you see, don't buy tickets and don't go to the games.

If you all get your wishes and the manager goes, half the team leave and the owner pulls funding - that's when the club will be a shambles.

Peace out, and up the town!

McCarthy: I'll Make a Decision on My Future in the Summer
at 17:42:14

Regardless of whether you are in the Mick in or Mick out camp, you cant fault the guy for saying it as it is.

I'm personally still with the Mick in crowd (although I realise i'm in a shrinking minority). Would be mental of the club to get shot of him at this point in the season. I know a few people who work at Playford Rd and evidently he's an extremely popular figure there. Just a real shame things haven't been working on the pitch for the past few months.

Worth seeing how things pan out for the rest of the season before the club (or Mick) decides his fate. Would be great to see the team starting to play more of the football we saw against Blackburn at the weekend. We can live in hope!

Good luck new player who nobody had even heard of until they read this article, yet seem to already be dividing opinion!

I'm sure you'll be given a warm reception by the fans. That is until you make the slightest mistake, then you'll be unfairly tarnished forever as another Mick McCarthy flop.

Best of luck to you Kieffer - you're really going to need it to pass muster with this miserable bunch of die hard reprobates!

Chambers: Douglas Abuse Unwarranted and Unacceptable
at 14:42:16

I remember being at the game we played against Bornemouth at PR the season before last (I think it finished 2 - 2) and there was a section of fans quite clearly booing at Douglas whenever he got the ball. Didn't matter whether he played well or not, he still got booed. Even then it was pathetic and ridiculous.

Mick_Mills_Tache, just because someone pays for a season ticket, doesn't give them a moral right or obligation to boo the team when they aren't doing very well. If the team is performing badly do you really think its going to help any of them to boo them off the park? I'd argue that actually its whinging moaning fans like yourself who are not whats best for the club. Why don't you do one instead - no one would miss you or your £600.
