I think if he had a night out with our lads and got plastered, that could go a long way to ceiling the deal |

Isn't Cheltenham's ground called the "Totally Suzuki Stadium" these days? I went to the away game there last season and while Cheltenham itself is very nice, the stadium is indeed totally Suzuki. |

To put it in even more perspective, on 11th February we were in 4th place on 60 points, while Sunderland were 6th on 47 points They gained a further 9 points from their final 15 games and finished 16th, while we took 36 points from 16 games. Unbelievable final third of the season from us under pressure. |
| Forum Thread | Pub in Sheffield to watch us play Hull? at 14:01 21 Apr 2024
Going to be in Sheffield next weekend and I know we have 1 or 2 Sheffield residents among us, so I was wondering if there was a particular pub where the game would be shown (and that has decent beer!) Thanks in advance. |

That cellar sounds ideal. Back when I drank real ale I used to keep my bottles in the garage, although it could get pretty warm in there in the summer so that wasn't always ideal. When we moved house 5 years ago our new house had a built-in fridge, so our old fridge became a dedicated beer fridge - I try to make sure it stays well stocked! |

Bottled beer needs to be kept somewhere dark (if it's not in the fridge) as too much light can impact the flavour. Not a problem for cans obviously, although both suffer if not kept at the correct/consistent temperature. |

I'm a big fan of all things beer related - have journeyed through lager as a yoof, then through real ale and now a big craft beer drinker in my 40s, but while some people try to criticise one or the other, there is a place for all of them IMO. Some sound recommendations on this thread & from what you've said I'd suggest craft beer probably isn't for you, but one thing I would recommend is keeping a record of what you like and dislike if you're "rediscovering" beer. There are lots of apps out there for this, but UnTappd is by far the best and every beer worldwide is listed on there. Far easier than keeping a written list as I found out around 8 years ago! |

A nasty wind between 11am and 2pm could just be down to nerves though |

Yeah you're right about his overdose in Italy. Me and my sister had tickets to see them at Brixton Academy on 9th-ish April, so we figured that would get rearranged after his OD, but I remember my mum telling me to put the radio on first thing in the morning (16 year old me would've otherwise laid in bed till at least midday!) & I just couldn't believe it. I was lucky enough to see pretty much every other band from that era, but Nirvana was the one I was looking forward to the most. Someone posted recently about Soundgarden's Superunknown album being 30 years old & I've listened to that a number of times lately, so will definitely have to put some Nirvana on my playlist later on. 30 years. Wow, where has the time gone? |
