I went along to this last night and came away happier than I've been in a long time at how well the club is engaging with community again. It also left me angry at how much this area of the club was neglected by the previous owner, when it has the potential to do so much good in Suffolk and beyond. Luckily it seems like the new owners are 100% behind the trust and are doing everything they can to re-engage.
Some highlights: -Foundation is the fastest growing area of the club -Buy-in from the players. Examples were: Edmundson helping to coach the disability team on Thursday nights, and buying them new kit earlier in the year. Burgess helping out at the dementia cafe and encouraging teammates to do the same. -Pretty much everything the Futurestars charity is doing in Ghana. Great to see the club/foundation working so closely with them.
Feels like we've got a really good bunch of people at the club, both players and "suits", and it's great to see after so many years of neglect.
I'd imagine some of these might be relevant as LON's inbox is probably pretty full right now! Probably can't hurt to CC marcus.evans@itfc.co.uk as well (you never know!)
