Gillingham 0-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 21:11:59

Took in my 1st away game of the season today. We were lucky, all the bad luck that we suffered last year seems to have turned into good this year. We far from dominated the game and for a lot of the match were poor. Gillingham had many chances in front of goal but either took to long or wanted too many touches. If that performance by us had been in the championship we would have been hammered by a team that took the chances. Holy was good as were our 3 defenders and KVY but Edwards...no, he's not for me. Doesn't seem to put enough into his game. I think we have better players in that position. Dozzell the same, flatters to deceive, not enough energy and effort, could be replaced by a better player who puts more effort in. One up front is not for Jackson either, he needs a partner, preferably not Judge either, he's all over the place and I really don't know what his best position is now really as he can't seem to stick to any role without wandering. The players looked slow and lethargic today and were very lucky to come away with all 3 points against a poor Gillingham side, that seemed to create far more chances than us. We need to up our game or the 1st defeat will soon come about. COYB's up your game, complacency is starting to creep in. On a more positive note another hell of a game from KVY, what a player we have found there, credit to the club. Strange team selection and formation today, did it work, well we come away with 3 points so result says yes, but performance for me says no.

Ipswich Town 3-0 Shrewsbury Town - Match Report

We've got our Ipswich back. Looking at the stadium just before ko who'd have thought we were in the 3 tier of English football? Great team performance and great crowd atmosphere. The team has strength and depth throughout and the home debut from Vincent-Young tells us the right back position has now been filled by a young, skillful, quality player. A strong bench that will only get stronger.......I'm loving the start we've got off too. Thanks Paul Lambert for turning our club around and giving us the feel good factor back after such turbulent times.

Keane Rejoins Town

Oh dear I'm probably going to be classed as a moaner then I reckon. He was classed as injury prone when he joined us last time and his record when he was with us justified that, so I for one can't see the point of signing someone who gets injured too often and misses a lot of games. I do however hope I'm proved wrong. I'd rather sign someone who isn't injury prone and is always fit and is a good player but wait........that involves paying a decent fee. If they are a good player however and go on to better themselves they will be worth a decent fee when Mr Evans wants to sell them.

Luton Town 3-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 22:09:16

Luton Town, yes Luton Town fielded a completely changed team and beat ITFC 3-1 and that's ok. Sorry I find that hard to swallow even if we did only make 10 changes. The team we fielded was hardly an inexperienced team was it and being 2-0 down in the 1st half can hardly be put down to lack of fitness. They maybe just coming back from injury some of them, but surely they had something to want to prove. Is it so wrong to demand or expect something better from the team you support?

Ipswich Town 1-1 Sunderland - Match Report
at 17:56:51

Good 1st half display with a high pressing game and 3 penalty claims. I thought we should have been awarded 1. Impressed with the whole team in the 1st half but it really changed when Garbutt had to go off, the whole balance and display changed. 2 things have not changed since last season and we really need them both to. 1) Injuries being picked up too easily to influencial players. 2) Captain calamity needs to loose his name tag. For me Norwood looks a very good player as does Garbutt and Woolfenden was by far the stand out player at the back looking very strong and accomplished for his age. I must say when Judge came on he was all over the place and his passes and crosses were too. Not the player he was for us last season. Rowe had a good 1st half but faded badly in the 2nd half. Once again when Dozzell came on and was given a chance he just doesn't take it for me. A great atmosphere and crowd well done supporters. Well done team but you must play with the same intensity and closing down for 90+ minutes not just 40-45. I left feeling 2 points dropped, at the end of the season it could prove costly and all down to yet another mistake.

Evans on Relegation, New Arrivals and the Promotion Challenge
at 08:02:38

Lack of investment has killed the club for years and will continue to do so. ME goes on about catering updates, painting and general upkeep this season. These are things that have been grossly neglected over the years. It always costs more once things have been neglected to get them back to speed or look presentable. The playing staff has been neglected too more importantly. Managers recently have been starved of funds and the type of player we are forced to by are the cheapest end of cheap. We may get lucky once in a while but generally the type of player we are using don't! Evans could let the manager have a little more but chooses not to. This approach will leave us struggling whichever league we are in. I seem to be in a minority of supporters that do not think Evans is our saviour. We are where we are because of him and further progress will be hampered because of him. I think we have an excellent manager in PL but even he will be pushed too far at some stage by the limits Evans puts on him!!

Town Could Receive Third Summer Sell-On Windfall as Brighton Close in on Webster

When Robson was manager players that left the club were rarely successful. Now nearly all the players that are let go or moved on all seem to go on and make names for themselves. What has gone wrong with our club and why does it continue to be so mismanaged from the top? We don't get the best out of players, other clubs do!

Year after year the club does the same things, despite saying things will be different. Same owner reduced budget every year. I DON'T WANT US TO SPEND MILLIONS, BUT GIVE THE MANAGER A BL**DY CHANCE.

Impressed with Holy, he had that presence which we have been lacking with high balls and crosses. No. 3 I thought played well for a young lad. Downes was flying in with the tackles and lucky with a lenient ref I thought to have not been at least booked for earlier challenges. Yes he is very physical and fiery, but I'd like to see more skill. He reminds me of a certain Trevor Putney. You need a physical presence in midfield i agree but it needs to be controlled physicality. Dozzell for me once again flattered to deceive and not enough work rate for me. I think he thinks he is better than he is, as he is continually being told what a talent he is. Well do it on the pitch lad, you've had a hell of a lot of opportunities. No. 15 at the back is a mountain of a player but his lumps up the pitch are all too familiar of itfc of MM reign. Loved Norwood as a player, he is what we have needed for years, he'll do well, we must play him and Jackson together, they both look like a handful and close down defence well.. 1st half we had more possession with the team we fielded and I felt after break Cambridge looked stronger and posed more of a threat.
On this showing the season will be long and painful and we need players with greater skill. I know.......we should be grateful to ME for keeping the club afloat. Well it's because of him we are where we are. I know........it's only a pre season friendly as well. I had hoped certain players would really show up today to stake their claim. I was left disappointed. Long hard difficult season ahead.

Lambert: Judge Has Indicated He'd Like the Opportunity
at 08:18:39

Not good news for supporters but once again showing players nowadays show no respect to clubs. Playing career is relatively short but I had hoped we'd get at least one season out of him and that's what I still want. Replacing him at this stage with Evans as owner is going to be impossible. We all know that if a player is sold on the replacement is found that is cheap and not as good. I'm disappointed at Judge not giving us one season after only just signing a contract. Still say come January if Norwood is on fire and a big offer comes in Evans will take it. How the hell are we going to build to get back to championship.

As I said weeks ago, under Evans we will continue to be one of the lower funded clubs in whatever league we are in. Personally I can't see a bright future in that philosophy, Then as soon as any player shines he is sold. Only one way your going to go in the leagues.

Paderborn 3-2 Town - Match Report
at 21:25:23

Leeco84. We have been relegated last season yes and of course a reality check is needed. Since the splashing of the cash with Roy Keane and Paul Jewell the club has been starved of funds and that has led to our slow gradual decline. That added to the sale of players once they show they have a worth is not a recipe for success as our league position backs up. I hope Paul Lambert sticks with us but I fear once PL see's his owner will not engage with him as much is necessary he will move on too. As I say I hope to be proved so wrong. Regarding todays result it is a chance for the squad to bond, put into practice certain things and gain match fitness. You can't read much into results, but you don't want to get tonked in pre-season really, not good for moral and confidence.
