| News Comment | Lambert: We’re Not Far From Being a Right Top Side at 16:10:10
Next two home games are key. Hope PR is rocking to bring some much needed Xmas cheer. Then away at QPR for a real six p-ointer we owe them. Who knows about Middlesbrough away on Sat 29th. On the back of three wins on the bounce I'd be happy with a point. With new additions the January fixtures look good for picking up points. Millwall & Rotherhram at home 3 points each and at least 2 hopefully 3 or 4 from Villa & Blackburn away would give this once proud club a real chance of avoiding the drop and probably an extended period in the 3rd flight of English football. However February looks tough & if we do not make the most of December & January I fear the gap may be too large by the time we visit the scum on 10th Jan. Santa please, please, please bring some of Mr Evan's fortune to PL to strengthen the squad, some quick injury recovery tablets and the little bit of luck we have been missing so far this season. |

Enough is enough. Yes it was right for MM to go maybe should have been sooner. The change is not working. Please bring in someone who can stop the rot and give this once proud club a chance of avoiding what would be a long time outside the top two flights of English football. Also please back him with the cash required to settle the ship and move on next season. A Butcher / Burley combo guiding Dyer with backing would ensure people passionate about ITFC |
| News Comment | Town Topic: Wembley 78 Memories at 08:01:36
Was fifteen at the time. I watched the match on the family TV (also all the build up from mid morning) I just knew that the Town would come good in what must be one of the most one sided 1 - nil finals ever. After the presentation and lap of honour I walked the dog and must have re-enacted the goal, on the meadow, and Mick lifting the cup a dozen times each. |

Hi I live in the north and get to the occasional away game but always follow Town's results and news. Yes I remember 1978 I was still at school but left the following year. There was no chance of getting a ticket for Wembley. However seeing the team, Sir Bobby and the cup at the Corn Exchange along with the superb games that followed gave me memories that will last a life time. I will reminisce on Sunday and cross my fingers that the next appointment can somehow set the club on a return to the top flight. It sounds as if the owners is taking a lot of advice. The pieces I offer are a, Who ever the next manager is will need time to have an impact (should not be a problem as this has always been the ITFC way) & b please please please back the successful applicant with a reasonable fund for transfers & wages. The nucleus of the team is there with promising youth coming through. Invest in the new manager and rewards on the field and in the profit & loss account will surely come. |
