Assuming we go up, I agree on Brighton and Palace but not West Ham, they would definitely worry me if they were to come in for him The potential there is clear, the squad seems well suited for a progressive manager like McKenna to come in and kick them on and with their stadium etc a budget that we can’t come close to matching. They are only a year removed from winning a European trophy. I don’t think it’s beyond the realms that the right person could achieve something similar to what Emery has done at Villa in the last couple of years Timing is everything and he may well want to continue the job with us, but if they showed serious interest, I’d be amazed if he wasn’t tempted |

As others have said, clearly based on an average of simulations with the various point outcomes (3,1 or 0) applied and weighted Usually find these kind of multi-simulation type models useful, but this is what happens when you rely solely on an algorithm and there is no one human (who actually understands the topic) to sense—check the outputs! |

🙋🏻♂️ In London for work so train up from Euston mid-afternoon, few jars, 3 points, lift home. That’s the hope anyway! |

My son went to school today in his school uniform. Walked him in this morning and all the other kids were wearing their uniform too Did see a couple of Town bags, and one Man City one, but that was about it |

🙋♂️ Driving sadly but that’s the trade off of being a passenger on Tues when we clinch promotion… |

“We have right now lots of load. It's also same for Ipswich, also have to play three games within seven days and before, two weeks without a game so it’s also for them difficult you have to be honest” I don’t like Farke and obviously hope Leeds come unstuck tonight, but f**k me some people are desperate to whine about anything on here atm |

They mean they would rather they can sell/offload him this Summer rather than pay another seasons worth of wages without being able to play him (as even if he suddenly shows a huge turnaround in form they can’t afford to trigger the fee) |

4 years ago there were no English semi-finalists either, the following year was an all-English final It’ll take more than one season for English teams to no longer be seen as the dominant force, and likely this season will prove an outlier as you say given the relative finances of the leagues. Although of course, teams like Real and Bayern will remain strong and fully capable of knocking out anyone |

4 - Ipswich, already promoted and recreating Fleetwood (A) at home to Hudds! |

I don’t think that’s their premise at all, just that when the aspiration is promotion the bar is that much higher, and therefore not unreasonable to hope for more than 2 points from home fixtures against teams placed 9th and 15th in the table |

It might do but the OP is spot on about opportunity slipping through our fingers Had we won yesterday we would have a 4 point gap to Leeds, and with them having 2 tricky away games before we next play. Quite possible therefore that we would go into that 3 game run knowing we need just one win to finish above them Saints could theoretically catch us still, but you’d think them winning 5 of 5 is unlikely, so one win would probably do it against them too Instead, we’ll now almost certainly be behind, just a question of how far I’d actually go one step further than they have too, had you told me on Friday we’d have gained points on both Leicester and Leeds over the weekend I’d have been over the moon, but it still feels like a huge missed opportunity |

Following the theme above I’ve thought for a while more teams should try a couple of early warning shots, for that very reason. Not specific to playing Ipswich, but top level football in general with the modern high keeper approach I know this is very much opposed to the modern approach where possession is (quite rightly) valued, especially in transition which is where these opportunities come, but strikes me that there could be some real long term benefit if it forces teams to adapt and change the way they play against you. Not to mention the benefit if it actually succeeds! [Post edited 11 Apr 15:47]

Indeed, the last 2 seasons in League One we spent more than every other team in the league, then more than the whole league combined in fees. Our wage bill last season was comfortably the highest in the league Obviously that isn’t the case this season but using figures from 2 years ago isn’t reflective either, our wage bill this season will again be higher and my own best guess is we’ll be just inside the top half. So a phenomenal achievement to be where we are still but not quite to the levels some are suggesting in this thread |

Good to see lots of people playing the poster rather than the post, as usual It’s obvious what the OP is getting at and they aren’t really wrong either |
