The opinion nobody asked for
at 21:41 8 May 2024

Grant Holt 🤪
Poor man’s Kuqi.
I loved Sheffki to bits but he wouldn’t make our best eleven even if you discounted Crawford, Mariner, Whymark, Johnson, Brazil, Stewart and Bent.
Ten times the player Holt was though.

Silly things I look forward to next season
at 00:39 5 May 2024

Having an official re-hydration partner.

Watching Ed Sheehan celebrate in front of Prince William, as Sarmiento scores a 95th minute winner at Villa Park.

Kicking off at 4.30 on a Sunday at Maine Road and Al Hamadi scoring a 95th minute winner. Pep whining about having to play 72 hours after an exhausting visit to the San Siro, with his billion quid squad clinically dead from exhaustion.

Sam Morsy crunching into Bruno Fernandez and emerging with the ball whilst the show pony waves his arms about like an electrocuted octopus.

Vaclav nutmegging Haaland.

Reaching 45 pts by Christmas.

Be careful what you wish for.

MM did a brilliant job under the hideous ownership of Evans.
Be careful what you wish for was spot on. Hirst and Lambert were a sickening downgrade in comparison.
The new ownership and Kieran McKenna are a world away from that nightmare period and something nobody could have predicted would happen, when we were getting outplayed by Northampton, Wimbledon and Cambridge.

They collected ours today.
Cardboard in the blue sack, glass in the black box, tins and plastics in the green one.
Painfully simple, much like our elite brethren.
Welcome back.

Spectacularly went wrong there, partly because we don’t cope well with Saturday midday kick offs anyway.

I remember thinking the same thing last season.
‘Yeah, it worked against Peterborough, Barnsley and Derby but will it work against the big boy bullies in the Championship?’
If we go up and keep him, I reckon he’ll have a stab at it again, because the season isn’t decided by the score against Abu Dhabi.

Come on Brighton...
at 20:57 25 Apr 2024

Controversial opinion incoming..

De Zerbi really ain’t all that and Brighton should do the smart thing, pretend they want to keep him, and take a handsome pay off, probably from those mugs at Stamford Bridge that bunged them a fortune for Potter, their dodgy keeper, Caicedo and Cucarella.

Edit: Just realised the only problem with that brain dump is the chance they’ll come sniffing for KM. Meant to say De Zerbi is doing a great job.

Southampton gifting it back to Leicester...
at 21:40 23 Apr 2024

I don’t doubt we’ll have the same desire.
Whether we can get back on track and start scoring after x3 inadequate performances is the question.
Either way, we get two blocks of three games and we need 100% success rate in one of those blocks.

That's that then

Having seen Chelsea’s woeful capitulation tonight, I imagine Coventry might be similarly deflated after an undeserved FA semi final defeat that effectively kills their season.

Beat Hull on Saturday and I think it will all come down to the Huddersfield game.

Or that someone.....

Whenever I see the word ‘Bloots’ in writing, my sad anagram-solving mind drifts back 40 odd years to my brief work experience placement at a research facility based at Bath RUH.

We used to label the poo samples stool A, stool B and so on.

Stool B was the secondary sample of faecal matter that just sat there in a test tube, rarely acknowledged and eventually chemically disposed of.

Funny how life goes full circle.

I really hope Hull and Coventry are this flat and lifeless when we meet them.
at 20:57 23 Apr 2024

We’re not really relying on others.
It is in our hands completely. Hull and Coventry are miles behind us for a reason.
Win the last three games and we’re up even if Leicester and Leeds win their remaining games 30 nil.
